|
|
Anyone who now owns a PA4X please help me out...
I am looking at the latest manual and now freaking out that Korg have not improved the tone-wheel organ emulation.
Where are the Vibrato and Chorus (C1,2,3 & V1,2,3) controls?
Previously they have only been available as an effect (Organ Vib/Chorus), but this is far from good enough if you want nice "Hammond B3" emulation functionality.
This means that you need 2 effects, one for Rotary and the other for Organ Vib/Chorus - so what about some reverb etc..etc... ????????????
Please tell me I've missed something here!!!!

I was thinking the same a few days back, looking though the manual I could see no reference to the Chorus/Vib Settings and if you cannot get C3 a serious omission it is. |

Yes it's strange isn't it - most of the important functions are there but I agree - C3 - i like instant access to that.
Oh well - we'll see what happens - looks like I'll have to keep my Roland VR09!!!

You can program user DRAWBAR sounds with C3 on, right? _________________ ”It’s easy to play any musical instrument: all you have to do is touch the right key at the right time and the instrument will play itself.”

The new U-Vibe effect looks interesting ...
U-Vibe
Modeled on the most famous chorus/vibrato pedal effect unit. This effect
simulates a rotating speaker and produces a wonderfully seductive and
‘watery’ tone. Interestingly enough, the guy responsible for this great pedal
is also responsible for the birth of the KORG Nuvibe and Valve Reactor
Technology.

I couldn't find this effect in the PA3X docs _________________ ”It’s easy to play any musical instrument: all you have to do is touch the right key at the right time and the instrument will play itself.”

Hi Rick
Hadn't seen this one!!!
It's fascinating - shame there is not much of a description of it.
I am still wondering how I can, on my new (planned) PA4X, play a style with UPPER1 as a drawbar organ, have instant rotary speaker (per Leslie) instant vibrato/chorus control plus still have some reverb.
There may be a simple way but I can't figure it right now....
I know you can control the C1,2,3 & V1,2,3 (FX) with the joystick-Y BUT I still need a minimum of 3 FX - Chorus/Vibrato, Rotary and Reverb for the UPPER1
Hmmmm...
Must try the U-Vibe though - I'm curious now!!!

Hi Pete,
The Drawbar presets we prepared usually include these effects:
- IFX: Amp Simulator
- MFX2: Speaker Simulator/Overdrive
- MFX1: Reverb
or:
- IFX: Speaker Simulator/Overdrive
- MFX2: Organ Vibrato/Chorus
- MFX1: Reverb
or any variation you like. The MFX2 is used as an additional IFX. There are several effects that can be used to create a convincing organ sound.
