Alesis Fusion

Post by rpowell01 »

I own both the Alesis Fusion and Kronos X 88. I've own the Alesis Fusion since 2007 (I think) and well since Alesis quit supporting it some time ago I've been thinking of sampling all the sounds I can or somehow converting the Fusion samples into Kronos Format.

I know I can use any software such as Redmatica Autosampler which I still own and have installed on OS X (I refuse to upgrade my OSX for this reason and Autosampler will not start with new versions) on my custom hackintosh. But I am curious has anybody come up with a way to decrypt the Fusion Samples so they can be converted into Korg Kronos format or any other format? I own Chicken Systems Translator 6 professional and I can tell the samples are encrypted because whenever I click on a sample to play it within Translator 6 all I hear is a bunch of static.

I am thinking of downloading a hex editor and to look at some of the encrypted samples to figure out how they are encrypted but that is the long and hard way. Without resampling everything has anybody figure out how to decrypt the samples the easy way? Thanks for any info you can provide.
