A computer and working MIDI interface, together with two MIDI cables having DIN jacks, are needed. The MIDI interface needs to be able to support MIDI exclusive messages correctly. Not all do, unfortunately. Download and install the AX3000G/Sound Editor from:
https://www.korg.com/us/support/download/product/1/28/ - there are also bonus patches to be found here. Be aware that the webpage can take a while to render fully (up to a minute).
The AX3000G MIDI-Out should be connected to the interface MIDI-In, and the AX3000G MIDI-In should be connected to the interface MDI-Out. With this setup, it should be possible to back up the existing settings of the AX3000G, and also copy new settings to it. PC files containing patches will have .axp extensions.
