TRIGGER MONOTRIBE WITH SQ1

I am trying to sequence mt monotribe from my SQ-1, over midi *yes monotribe modded with midi in/out).whenever i press start on the sq-1 it trigger the pattern in the seqrencer of the monotribe.
is there a way around this behaviour?
i would liketo sequence the monotribe from the SQ-1

Use CV/Gate instead? That's how I do it on my SQ-1, since my Monotribe doesn't have the MIDI Mod, but every Monotribe is CV/Gate-ready after being updated to the latest OS (v2.1).
