Does anybody know why my sustain pedal effect doesn’t get recorded on Sequencer, yet it works fine when playing? |

in SEQ mode
its a tab titled " Midi filter/zones"
Look for that tab and press it.
you will then see more tabs, midi filter 1, 2, 3 etc.
Get familiar with these controller/cc options since when you record, you will be using this quite a bit. The choices enable or disable the controller/cc's _________________ Kronos 88. MODX8

I think you misunderstood me, my sustain pedal works in SEQ mode when playing and while recording. But when I’m playing back the recording, sustain effect isn’t there. |

are you using a Kprg sustain pedal ? Where is it connected ?
if you are using midi filter to enable pedal sustain, 1 possibility is that you accidentally placed a CC message in a bar/measure of your track that removed the sustain
Sometimes, when cc massages are cumbersome, my workaround is to give up on the track, and use another midi track and make a new instrument recording.
At this point, I am guessing what happened _________________ Kronos 88. MODX8

Im using a Korg DS-1H pedal, it’s connceted to the damper slot if that’s what you meant. Damper is enabled for all midi tracks in midi filter section. It doesn’t work no matter which midi track I pick, It’s the same on all of the instruments I’ve tried. Can you explain me a bit more in detail abot what CC message is? |

lets try simple.
With your K on, unplug your DS-1H. Than replug it.
Go to global/controllers.
In the top portion, what do you show for Damper Polarity ?
No promise this will solve your SEQ problem. But something is preventing
your Song's enabling of the sustain message during playback.
And when you record, take it easy on sustain pedal use- its easy to 'flood'
your midi track with the sustain message.
Cc is Midi controller change. Since this is standard midi, suggest
you crack the Kronos manual. all you might need is some over view
on how Kronos manages it. _________________ Kronos 88. MODX8

Some of the above seems more appropriate if the sustain pedal isn't working at all, instead of just not on sequence playback as you describe.
This is the simple approach I'd take: Start in program mode, pick a piano sound, verify your sustain pedal works as you expect. Take this piano sound into a blank song in sequencer mode using the record + enter shortcut. Verify sustain still works as you expect.
Now, start recording, wait for the countdown to complete, and after recording begins, very carefully record only this:
A) press the sustain pedal down.
B) press middle C, hold for a bit, and release it after say one beat.
C) keep the sustain pedal down for say 7 more beats.
D) release the sustain pedal.
E) stop recording.
If what you describe is correct, when you play this back, the piano will release after one beat, instead of after 8 beats like we all expect. Verify this.
Now, go into the track edit event editor (as I recall you go to the track edit tab, and select event editor from the upper right corner menu; leave all boxes checked so you see all kinds of events and press OK). There may be a few events at the beginning of the track, but the last few events should be the CC for sustain pedal down, the NOTE event at the time you pressed the note (and a duration of about one beat), and 7 or 8 beats later, a CC event for sustain pedal up.
All of those should fit on one screen easily, so you could then post a picture for us to see.
OH, and it just occurred to me that Karma has swallowed filtered out sustain events for me in the past. Has Karma been off for all your attempts so far? _________________ Equipment: Kronos 2 61, Kronos X 61, JP-08, Integra-7, Miniak, JV-1080, Ensoniq VFX & VFX-SD. |

Okay, so:
1. I recorded what you told me to record, pressed middle C and held sustain for 7 beats, and yes, as you said, piano releases after 1 beat.
2. I went into event editor, and this is what i got:

3. No I did not use KARMA. |
