I was messing around with some DIY synth stuff and I plugged a 12v signal to the CV and SYNC-IN of the Volca Modular. The manual says the SYNC-IN can take 20v max but I'm not sure about the CV. Now when I turn on the Modular it doesn't start up properly.
When it's plugged into mains the Mod and Fold lights come on when the power button is held, they turn off again when I release the button. The same thing happens when using batteries but with different lights coming on.
I'm guess the repair cost will outweigh the cost of a new system and I'm wondering if I can repaired myself. I'm ok with soldering and have experience with SMD soldering, I'm just not sure what parts need replacing or how to test the parts to see if they are damaged.
Has anybody had a similar problem? Can someone shed some light on how I can repair this machine? I'm missing playing it a lot. |
