I need a place to write down products that I'm considering adding to my Nautilus, and would appreciate feedback if you're familiar with any of them, so decided to go public with it.

  • https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B01DKQZFSC (appears to be exactly the same as https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B08CZ1DKYV) Worlde EasyControl.9 Portable Mini USB 9 Slim-Line Control MIDI Controller: 9 sliders, 9 knobs (I assume they're independent) 9 momentary buttons (not reassignable to toggles according to reviews), a crossfader (one review says it's sending the same signals as slider 7), another knob and a few more buttons. I wonder if the buttons on the bottom (rewind, fast forward, play, etc.) are generally assignable midi buttons? Could I use them, for instance, to set console leslie speed in a tonewheel organ?

    • Those maybe aren't available, so maybe https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B09BPSDLGT
    • This thing is rebranded as so many products it's not even funny. I purchased one from WalMart. I got it and plugged it in. Without any configuration, it appears that sliders 4 and 8 both control volume (though slider 4 is inverse: moving the slider up turns the volume down). I'll try to find an owner's manual for the thing to find out what midi messages it is sending, etc. Hopefully I don't need to program it over USB from a computer, but we'll see.
    • Here's a great video showing how the device is programmed; https://youtu.be/rAX1nDAZn0c?t=517

  • https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B00XJE3W7C AKAI Professional MIDImix - USB MIDI Controller Mixer with Assignable Faders & Master Fader, 24 Knobs and 16 Buttons. That's a lot of knobs...surely overkill. This one seems to have extra lights, but I don't know how to control them: https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B01N592MVS
  • https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B000CZ0RK6 Behringer FCB1010 Ultra-Flexible MIDI Foot Controller with 2 Expression Pedals and MIDI Merge Function
  • https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B08FZWGYPK damper switch. I purchased this already and it works wonderfully with Nautilus. It has two settings: N.O. (normally open) and N.C. (Normally Closed). I couldn't fathom what the point of this is, but came across a post elsewhere on these fora wherein a user was excited to hear of this configurability! http://www.korgforums.com/forum/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=803170
  • https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08P3Y6HCL stylus (along with https://www.walmart.com/ip/17190461 some velcro). I already got this, cut out the velcro to a 5mm width by 9 cm or so (pretty long really) and stuck it to the stylus and keyboard. Working well, but it might be overkill. That much velcro really sticks the stylus pretty aggressively to the keyboard. I stuck the male side (not fuzzy) on the nautilus rather than the stylus on purpose. If I think it's too much velcro, it's no problem to remove some from the stylus without having to try to get it off the Nautilus
  • https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B000NLRWEI M-Audio EX-P | Universal Expression Pedal for Keyboards, MIDI Keyboards/Controllers and Supported Guitar Effects Pedals. Purchased in haste. It's currently on its way from Amazon, so I'll post back here with results. Surely this is a mistake, and I should rather purchase the Behringer Super Duper Flexible Double Effects Pedal thing above, so I may order it and return this.
*EDIT* Received this and it works, but there was a gotcha. There is a knob on the side of the pedal that limits its MINIMUM value. This makes it so that the value range of the pedal can be 0-100, or 50-100 or 90-100 or even 100-100. (To be clear, the minimum value can be set to anything as the knob rotates smoothly and seems to be analog.) I had turned the knob to 100-100 without understanding what I was doing, and when I plugged in the pedal, it didn't do anything. Adjusting this knob increased the range so that I could hear its effect and everything worked just fine.
