First the totally underwhelming Genos 2, and now a very underwhelming OS update for the PA5. |

Please give your Pa5x to me if you don't want to use it.
Honestly, it takes a lot of man hours to program firmware software and an equal amount of time to Unit Test and then QA test the software. And sometimes its not a matter of throwing more people on the problem, the old saying is; 9 people cannot have a baby in 1 month.
I agree with others; Great things come to those who wait!!! _________________ Pa5x, Yamaha Genos, ForeScore |

What an astonishingly poor business model and practice Korg have adopted with PA5X, specially when customer are paying the premium price that has been asked...
I fully endorse customers dissatisfaction considering the past 18 months, anything else is questionable...
Good God, this should have been "Great" from the beginning as a far more complete replacement model after PA4X, what we have had for almost 2 years is a Very Good but sadly incomplete flagship replacement...
As for... "those who wait", REALLY (!)... humans would of landed on Mars following the pattern layout by Korg this past 2 years with PA5X...
Anyway, I hope Korg are dining out well with my money with a spot of coding inbetween _________________ Korg PA5X-76 : Yamaha Montage M8x : Roland Jupiter 80 : Waldorf STVC : Roland Integra 7 : Waldorf Streichfett : Focal Trio6 ST6 : Studio Outboards/RME Audio Interface/A&H SQ Mixer : |

|
|
I've had all of the arrangers except the 5 for this reason. My sense and from what I've heard from others, the 5 was built by entirely different previous builders. Most of the original builders left the company during COVID and took their experience with them. With all the previous Korg Arrangers, there were a few "starter" problems but they were quickly fixed. These new guys just don't have the savvy it takes to get this 5 working the way we players want. Chuck, Ohio, USA _________________ PA4X & PA900

Yep ^^^^^ this...
This one was designed primarily for those sound programmers with a direct ear at Korg, and meant to keep everyone else happy - with the company attitude of "...see, there ya go, we do give you updates"
I mean, none of them affect , in my view, real world live players and neither for those home players happy to just play 2 and three finger chords and are happy with factory setups sounds and styles.
But yeah, I agree, it'll be European/USA summer before the next one, MAYBE even to coincide with the next NAMM, but I wouldn't';t hold out much hope for that.
If what Chuck says is true about the tech skills leaving Korg, it would explain a lot. Probably now got "tech-heads" and IT programmers working on it and not a musician anywhere haha! |
