TUTORIAL: Working w/ 8-bar samples without juggling patterns
Here is a short explanation about how I get around the 4-bar limitation, especially with longer samples, without having to switch patterns back and forth. The information applies to Electribe users as well, regarding muting and unmuting of parts. This explanation is not very in-depth, and I apologize, but I do finish with a solid demonstration of the technique, as applied to an Aaliyah acapella.

This is cool! Really nice work.sauce wrote:Here is a short explanation about how I get around the 4-bar limitation, especially with longer samples, without having to switch patterns back and forth. Good to see more positive videos of you getting some good use of the E2/ES2 instead of comparisons to ESX/EMX.

Thank you, I appreciate the encouragement! I admit, I still have a few ESX comparisons to explore, but it's not personal. I just want the database about all units to be as complete as possible, for potential buyers and anyone who may be interested.SMK wrote:Good to see more positive videos of you getting some good use of the E2/ES2 instead of comparisons to ESX/EMX.

I just had a thought. You could probably automate this with motion recording. Either move the volume knob really fast, having the two samples alternate which is volume up and which is down.
Your way is better because it keeps it down to one part playing, though. If we can't have pattern chaining then it would be fun if we had motion recording for mutes.

Interestingly enough, on the old X-series Electribes this would be possible, because you could assign a very long, not-BPM-synced square wave to the volume perimeter. On the new units this is impossible because the only "free", non-synced modulation sources we get are the mostly-worthless EG and the triangle wave.gizmoismogwai wrote:I just had a thought.
