Extremely Low quality VIDEO OUTPUT!
Ok so I've done this a hundreds of times with the PA800 and PA3x. Today for the first time , I tried to record the video-out of the PA4x and thought it'd be business as usual. I did NOT expect it to be any better than the PA3x and such but I did NOT expect it to be way worse either!
The video is so bad you can't even look at it because it hurts your eyes. I take out the same exact cable and connect it to the PA3x...I get a much better quality that I've got used to.
My question is: Is there an official Korg PA4x video that was recorded using the video out connection? I would love to be proven wrong.
Or maybe I need to change the video settings because the PA4x outputs a different format?
Enlighten me, please!

Hi Sam
That is interesting.
I haven't recorded its video out but I do have an external screen attached most times when I rehearse.
I must admit that I thought that it was "slightly" better than the PA3X but possibly not so as I can't compare them together - could also have been related to the wine
Seriously would like to see the response to this.
All the best
Pete

Did you use this external screen for Lyrics only? I should upload a sample later today.karmathanever wrote:Hi Sam

ok, so here's a sample of the video output quality:

I don't know about you, but I can't even look at it for more than 10 seconds.

Lol! yeah, something like that!kenackr wrote:Sam,
It looks like your Pa4X has cataracts!
I'd take it to a service center or at least to a nearby store that has one one in stock to check it against.
Is it still in warranty?
It would be great if someone could record his/hers so we could compare. I really think this is not a faulty component. It's possible that this is probably IT!. If true, that would be very odd to say the least.
I really hope it's me doing something wrong. It is under warranty nonetheless...
In any case Just a 10 seconds recording would be more than enough.
Maybe Korg Italy could comment on this as well?

Sam,
What were you recording with? Cell phone? Video camera? Were you focusing on just the screen (if I remember right)?
I can try taking a non moving picture with a cell phone or a video with a Panasonic 3 CCD on a tripod (to avoid shake).
The problem I have with doing either is I don't know how to transfer either one to view on this forum. I assume the block that says "IMG" on the "Post a reply" page (I'm on now) means a still img but maybe it takes video too?

O88, T1, Wavestation, M1r, Pa 4X 76, Proteus 1-3, Morpheus, UltraProteus, K1200, Akai S2000, DP8
This is how I've been recording the screen for many years:kenackr wrote:Sam,

I connect the video output of the Pa keyboards to a Firewire AD converter. I use Adobe Premiere to capture the screen.
Here's a recording of the PA3x:

It's not the best quality there is, but at least it's usable. I can't even get half of that quality with the Pa4x!
