Maxx Master EQ
I have come from a Pa800 to a Pa4x-76 with PaAS. I am purely a home player and do not use a microphone.
I found the sound flat with no punch especially on solo instruments such as Sax. When I did some research I was not the only one.
I found the settings from Jonyblues back in 2016:
http://www.korgforums.com/forum/phpBB2/ ... p?t=105261
I have added these settings and I am now getting the sound that I want. Thank you Jon.
I have noticed that the bass was a bit heavy on the style. How is the best way to lower that. I am thinking that if it is an issue on many styles that I change Master > Bass > Intensity. Alternatively lower sound on Bass in style.
Are ther any other recorded settings? From a searh everyone seems to rate Jon's settings.

Yes, Jonyblues settings are fantastic, it was like a new instrument when I dialled them in.
I agree that the bass in styles is often too loud (as in bass guitar), not the EQ bass, and I usually just adjust it in the Style track, then save to the songbook.

Thanks for input. Do you mean just lower the sound level?I usually just adjust it in the Style track
Out of the box I am sure the Pa800 had more punch, I never changed any settings like this.
I find it strange that you have to go, where a lot will not want to go, to change settings to get a decent sound.

"Do you mean just lower the sound level?"
No.
When you are in Style mode, select 'volume' from the lower menu on the touch screen, then press the TRK SEL button to display all the parts in the accompaniment style. If you touch the volume slider for a instrument part on the touchscreen, you can then adjust the volume for the selected part (eg use data wheel).
If you touch on the instrument icon above its volume display, you can select alternate instruments (something I often do for a bass instrument, and many others).
Press TRK SEL again to return to the normal style view.
Any changes you make will be saved if you create/overwrite a Songbook entry.

Jonyblues settings are ok as long as you use it at home or with Johny's PA system plus his styles.
If you use it with another PA system,with your own styles etc, it might not sound good .
Depending the dynamics that your styles have ,your Maxx audio settings should be adjusted.
If you want all styles,factory or user to work well and clean,then
only solution is to use an analyzer software or hardware and adjust the MAXXaudio settings so you can clean all mid freq,and have an overall nice sound on any PA system you use .
TRY THIS SETTINGS AS A START :
EQ:
IN=BELL OUT=BELL
GAIN: 0.3 | 1.1 |-3.1 | 00 | 00 |0.3 |0.8 |
FREQ: 51 | 81 |304 |645 |2734|7298|10321|
Q :1.98| 1.19|2.62|0.88|1.02| 1.33| 0.43 |
on/off:ON | ON | ON | ON | ON | ON | ON |
MASTER:
BASS=20.5 ,TREBLE=1.6,STEREO=37=VOLUME=7.5

Here’s one more set of MAXXEQ if anyone cares to try. Discussion here on this forum sometime back got me started experimenting with these settings. Great improvement to the overall sound in my situation which is a home studio – a room of about 15 ft x 15 ft – with 4-JBL 8” 2-way studio monitors in a criss-cross surround plus a 12” sub-woofer.
The settings bring out the bass and treble in a smooth curve which I think is what you want unless you have an unusual situation.
MAXXEQ = ON
Bell in, Bell out
2.8, 2.0, 0.8, 0.0, 2.8, 3.4, 3.7
48, 81, 136, 645, 2734, 6502, 12274
0.4, 0.51, 0.82, 0.88, 0.63, 0.60, 0.46
All on
Bass On at 12.6 (I have all I need with the sub-woofer)
Treble On at 56.7
Stereo On at 55.1 (Might be a bit high but it works well for my surround set-up)
Volume On at 9.1
Keep in mind, different equipment in different situations may require different settings but these work well in my case.
Would appreciate feedback from anyone that decides to try these.

a big thank you to you all.
I have inserted all your figures (which was a remarkable feat for me) and it has made a tremendous difference.
This is an area where I would have never ever explored. So once again a big thank you to you all for sharing.
best wishes and stay safe

Just one question, what does it mean IN=BELL OUT=BELL?
