I have the Korg M50 for about a year and yesterday had this problem for the first time (during a gig rehearsal so not funny).

I noticed the M50 froozes one time half an hour before. Just switching off & on was ok. However half an hour later I got the updating left/right panel problem. I switched it off and on about 10 times without no progress (still keeping the update left/right messages). After keeping the M50 off for about 15-30 minutes I switched it on again and works as if it never happened.

I can't check the version number right now but I will update if necessary this evening.

I opened the M50, cleaned everything, removed some connectors to/from panel / motherboard, but couldn't find any loose connectors. However, when I assembled everything back together I left it on during the night and also played before and after. It's now about a month later and didn't get the problem again.

Don't open and remove items if you don't feel secure about it tough.
