2 Korg es-1 problems

Post by killanator »

I have 2 problems with my new korg es-1. the first is with smartmedia. i inserted a blank card into my unit and then i did what it said in the manual(hold shift and press step 15) and nothing happened(it was supposed to flash).

my second question is how do you make it so it doesnt playback a sample when you press the button so you can go to a samples settings and adjust its filter and stuff while you are jamming without having the sample playback and ruin the entire thing?

not sure about the first half of your question (i can look later), but to select samples without having them sound, hold down shift when you press the part you want.

ok thanks. ive tried to find korgs support but it appears to be nonexistent. i deleted everything on the card in case they were corrupted and it still did not work(i am sure i am inserting it the correct way due to the drawing on the front

other then that, im really enjoying the instrument

hey killa, nice to have you here :) are you sure you've got the 3.3v card? also, does the card read on your computer? if nothing happens when you try to load it in either the pc or es, the card is probably broken. if it doesn't show at all in the es, the card reader may be defect.. try inserting it with the cut corner on the left hand side, with the electronic surface face down. atleast that's how it's done on the ESX, and it sounds like you already know this, but who knows? :)

good luck!

The only thing I can think of is that you might need to be in 'Global Mode' first. Try pressing the 'Global' button before Shift-Step 15.
