Since you are asking for honest appraisal...
They were okay I guess. A bit bland in my view, and none were really that much different to what is already available.
A few were nothing like the genre named: Alt Rock; Metal Ballad; New Orleans.
With all due respect Nedim, you should really go back and listen hard to songs in those genres.
For me it seems like a set of "warmed over" existing styles (in fact some of the beds sound remarkably similar to PA factory styles), and done with no imagination or regard for musicality.
I certainly would not pay for them. In fact I would be hard pressed to take them even if offered free.
Sorry Nedim, but I am just being honest.
And I stress to others, this is ONLY my view.

Wow Nedim,
I listened to all the styles and you've done a fantastic job, the sound balance is great, the rhythms and styles are fresh and modern. I hope Korg employ you to make the musical resources in future keyboards.
Here are just a few of the highlights for me personally, I can't write about them all, they are all excellent like I said, and everyone will have their own favourites:
"Rock Ballad" is an acoustic guitar based light rock, playable at many hotels in california while watching the eagles flying overhead. It's a style I've wanted for a long time, thanks.
"New Orleans" is a traditional oldies rock'n'roll style and Elvis would have loved it.
When playing your "Oldies" style I really wanted to get my felt jacket and shades on - it's a show for wadi-wadi!
You've produced some great styles in compound time other than 4/4, for example "Metal Ballad" in 6/8, two "Shuffle" styles in 12/8, two modern "Regae" styles with very nice 16 beat backings, "Blues" in 12/4, and my favourite of these "Adriatic" in 6/8 which will come in useful for several gospel songs I play.
Best regards,
Rob

Yes Denis,
I asked for honesty and i appreciate it. As for the other comments, lemme give
you an example:
I have 13 different versions of the Jambalaya song, they are like from here to
Mars from each other now, tell me, with what right you will tell me:
THIS IS THE RIGHT VERSION OF JAMBALAYA AND THIS IS A WRONG VERSION...
thats just an example. ALT is not even a Genre of music, its a name of a Style.
I have a habit of naming stlyes based on other things not Genre, i dont like the
way certain people do it..ROCK 1, ROCK 2, ROCK 3, ROCK 4 and e tc.
And i can give you examples:
Metal Ballad, based on Metallica's Unforgiven, thats why called so.
NewOrleans, based on version of the Jambalaya i like, thats why called so.
Selena i Memory, based and exactly as Selena's If i Could Fall In Love With You,
also thats why called so.
Hotel Rock, only based on Hotel California but not too simillar, thats why called so.
Adriatic 6/8, based on a Croatian song i always liked, thats why called so.
Almost every style is based on something, there is no HOTEL Gere of music.
As i aid, i asked for honest opinions and i appreciate it, i am not rebuttling you,
i am just explaining since i saw you dont know why those names were there.
As for Rob...Hey, someone's trash is someone elses treasure...dont tell me i am wrong.

You can't ridicule that, he didnt have a plain dumb post of:miden wrote:Did you feel he needed some comforting and support hey Rob?
I am still laughing over your post!!
WOW, I LIKE THEM SO MUCH, I LOVE THEM...but he explained exactly what
and why he liked certain things...Do you like my Oriental or Balkan styles?
No you dont, you dont need them, hence his comments.
And poor me if i need it comforting, then my life would be messed.
Yep fair enough, can't argue with that Nedim.
I just call it as I see it Nedim, you know that. It's not personal (well maybe with RS, but NOT you).
I DO, however give you 100% for actually doing it in the first place, and just because I disagree doesn't mean anything at all. It's just my view.
For what it's worth (and even though I don't know jack-s@#t about them) I love your eastern styles.. They are so refreshingly different.
I couldn't use them because I have never learnt to play middle eastern music, but it was part of a music degree (I never finished LOL) so I learnt a long time ago about the wonderfully unique music form those countries of the world.
BTW, Unforgiven is one of my ALL-TIME favourite rock ballads, and Nedim, truly, that style is nothing like it.
I will allow a little licence with the other styles, but NEVER with anything Metallica!!
keep on rockin..

Nedim,
I think they sound very nice ideed.
With the kind of music I play...there is a few that I think would be nice to have. Lots of drums in there..pretty busy and that not a complaint...just I like the more orchestral stuff...slower love songs, etc.
Pieces you might hear an orchestra play or 40's big band, 50's dance or love songs, 60's stuff from Motown or Ricky Nelson, Little Anthony etc. (too many to mention). If you have dish network and listen to channel 973 for a couple hours..there is what I love to play (other stuff too)
I really want to learn how to do song specfic styles myself...I'm sure it won't be easy.
Let me know when you take PayPal.
Thanks,
Lee

Lee,
even me my self notice busy drums, there is a reason for that, its my background.
In our music, even the drums itself in one single band sometimes are played by
10 drummers at once (meaning Percuccionists too) and its in my head, a lot of
western styles to me sound sooooooo empty only cuz of the drums.
Thats why even not intentionally i always tend to GET BUSY with the drums.
In many of the styles there is probably Colouring from my background.
My weakest side is Jazz and Blues when it comes to western music.
I grew up listening to Oldies, Rock&Roll, ClassicRock, Metal and Pop,
was never a fan of Disco and my main Genre of production is Trance, i even
have few albums and songs released over the years.
As for styles, there is no difference between generic and song styles, they all
carry the same weight when designed and programmed. If you dont know how
to do from scratch then use MIDI files and cut and chop, it'll make your life easier.
Its really messed up when you are a HARDCORE music listening guy to create
Romantic stuff...LOL.
