Hi,
I need to do a preload on my Korg N364, but the floppy drive is not working. Can I do this via midi cable? What software do I use?
I've tried to do this using the software MIDI-OX, but to send the files to preload .Syx or PCG, keyboard appears in the message processing and does not charge any sound.
Thanks,
Vander

if you have the PCG file, try this program: http://www.newhouse.nl/xedit/xedit313.zip
I never used it, but supposedly you can convert a PCG to a sysex file through it.
Alternatively, try this program: http://www.gnmidi.com/utils/dmppcg.zip
It's actually written for the Korg i3, but should work with the X3/N364. you can use it to do a sysex send of a PCG file, but you need to use a DOS prompt.

Hi, I'm new in this forum and want to give something back as a way to say thanks.
I own a Korg N364, with a broken floppy disk drive, and I needed to restore the original presets for programs and combinations. I tried xedit313 and worked perfectly. I only needed to download the original presets directly from Korg's website (http://www.korguksupport.co.uk/Page.cfm?PageId=355). I downloaded the "Standard Factory Preload".
Once xedit was installed, and the midi cable correctly connected, I just needed to send the preload.pcg file to the keyboard. I selected X3 as the target keyboard, as they are compatible.
There are some nice YouTub-e videos which explain the detailed process (including MIDI conection, N364 or X3 configuration and more).
Hope it helps, thanks for your interest.
Best regards.
