Display vertical lines
Hello everyone,
I have just bought a new Korg M50 73 keyboard and I'm worried about the display. I know that it is a triviality, but I'd like to know if it happens to you too and consequently if it's normal.
The fact is that the display works as expected and everithing is displayed with clarity. However the image displayed is not perfect. I mean that there are some, practically transparent, vertical lines along the screen, aligned with some of the textboxes displayed. This lines are showed overall on the darker zones.
Is this the expected display behavior? Is it defective?
Thank you very much.

Of course, If you will adjust the contrast, the lines on the screen will hide, but not dissapear at all..mrteclas wrote:Have you tried adjusting the screen's contrast?
But, at least It's a solution!

I got those lines on my M3 screen too.
And they haven't been there from the start.
To quote a joke made by a user here (first I was upset but after I understand that it's a joke.. nice one ozy)
"vertical lines tell <<getting>> "
As long it doesn't affect the functions, it's ok... for the moment
but it is a sign of screen future problems...

Yes,
I have adjusted the screen contrast, and they dissapear from the bright zones but not totally from the dark zones.
My Korg M50 is absolutly new and they are there since the fisrt time I turned on the keyboard.
cMinor, are you sure that it's a sign of future problems? I'm on money back period so I could return to seller. The touch screen works perfectly and it displays everything well (apart from the transparent lines).

As log as my M3 was only "studio gig" I had no problem with the touch screen.
After moving around with my band , for live gigs, I got first line.
Now I have 3 lines left, and one in the right.
I believe that those lines are "touch screen" lines that are dead.
So I believe that when 4-5 lines will be stuck in the same location, some buttons under the dead touch screen lines will not respond.
So, yes, in time, those lines will be a problem.
The owners of triton may have the answear to this question, because triton is much older the M50/M3 and may have the same problems.

I don't very much see the lines, unless there is a black part on the screen, for example, setting velocity values for different oscillators you can see there are vertical arrow lines, well in my screen the lines go all the way down in some instances. I think is pretty normal behavior.

Judge yourselves if this is a normal behavior or not. Is this the same vertical lines you see in your displays?
As you can see the lines are aligned with UI elements...

Vertical lines would be a problem with the display screen itself. The touchscreen mechanism is seperate to that and should still operate fine.cminor wrote:As log as my M3 was only "studio gig" I had no problem with the touch screen.

I have seen problems with 'dead' lines on screens from a number of devices - my KARMA (which doesn't even have touch), Tritons, X50, etc.
The lines aren't actually usually 'dead'. They work, but the fact that they are less bright becomes apparent at very high contrast settings. On my KARMA I can see a few lighter or darker lines but increasing the contrast really makes them a lot more obvious.

Same here. From day one I've seen these lines. Just tweaked the contrast a bit until they are just a slight shadow.useron wrote:Well, a picture is worth a thousand words. These pictures have been taken with my camera.

Ok, I'd already post my opinion...guys you really think this is a serious problem??? I don't think that...
I think you are over-expecting problems in the M50 and M3...
Since the first days I had this lines in my M50 with high contrast, but after moving down the contrast a little bit the contrast, it dissapearead, so, at least in my opinion, I don't worry at all.
It don't "affect" to the touch screen job, just visually...period.
