Trouble Scrolling in Disk Mode?

Post by Lou »

While making some changes to a Combi, I managed to overwrite it. So I go into Disk mode to reload the combi. I opened the Preload PCG to Bank IA and touch the scroll bar to find the combi to load.
The screen kept scrolling on it's own. So I locate the combi and proceed to select it and the screen starts scrolling again. Finally I get to load it and then hit the "Up Button" to close out the folders, ..
nothing happens. After quite a few times, it finally closes.

I then checked the other folders "Combi/Program" and they all reacted in the same manner..
at times it was hard to select anything and had to use the scroll wheel or the Inc/Dec buttons. I rebooted and experienced the same?

Re-calibrated and cleaned the screen also.

Just tried your process but my Kronos worked fine. No problems.

Hope your issues are resolved.

I'm thinking the OS has to be re-installed for the fix?
I'm really not into this with a spanking new board..

I was hoping Dan or Brandon would chime in..

Tried restoring the whole lot?

You should not have to but perhaps you've suffered some very odd glitch?

I haven't seen anything like this on any Kronos units I've had in my hands. If I were you, I'd call your Korg distributor for support.

Hi Brandon

In Disk mode while trying to scroll and even a lot of the time trying to select something in the Preload.PCG, the screen flickers
(Usually one of the Programs or Combis) and for the moment can't do anything. Also, touching the side bar (Up/Down arrows) it will scroll half way or all the way up or down.
If I wait a few moments and then repeatedly hit the file or the Up button it finally catches.

Does this sound like a Restore or Full install?
I guess it's time to pick up a USB CD drive..

I haven't even noticed screen flicker during disk interface or touch screen operation. I'm wondering if the connection from the touch screen to the main logic board (or whichever distribution board it's tied into) might have been loosened during shipping.
Either way, I think a full system restore and/or contacting Korg support (in whichever order) sound like very logical next steps.

Good luck; I hate hearing any tales of woe from fellow Kronos users...

Cheers!
