I started a Kronos blog on blogger. I'm not coming at this as an expert on the Kronos, as I'm not one, but more of a way to document my discoveries and pass them along to other users.

If you have something you'd like to see posted, PM me.

Very nice blog, I'll keep an eye on it. I also added your blog link to my site.

Do you happen to have any demos of those Prophet 5 emulations, very interested about how they sound!

Fantastic: count me as one of the first to enoy your site! Very Happy

Your site reminds me that I should spend more time on such useful stuff and less in forum controversies.

I have joined up, thanks !

You do great work. I am glad someone is making an effort to organize the important features of the Kronus, and how to take advantage of the capabilities of the Kronos.

Excellent work, had to copy it and print it. both to put in my Kronos binder and to have the text right there with the Kronos when experimenting.

Again, Excellent.

Thanks gang, I appreciate the kind words and encouragement.

Jim, the ProphetV download is now fixed. It should now be Prophet5a.PCG. Remember these are designed to sound like the original, so by today's standards they're a bit mild.

Busch, I know these kinds of presets and normally don't use them for playing. But it's just interesting to see how they translate to the AL-1 VA, and I was surprised how well they did.

I still have an original Polysix factory patch sheet booklet, plus one from a German Polysix sound contest of these years: same thing, you would hardly use much of these patches nowadays. But they are just fine examples of how subtractive synths slowly developed their "own language" so to say, after being on the "imitation trip" at first for a while.

You know the OASYSPCI card had both a Minimoog and Prophet 5 emulation included. They were very basic and the AL-1 is more capable or producing either of these emulations and it just sounds better, but I think that's where it began. In addition to its own synths, Korg seems to have a soft spot for the Mini and P5.
