Seek Editor/Librarian Software for Korg micro-Arranger

Post by scottyee »

When I go to the Korg MicroArranger website & then click on 'support & downloads' which appears beneath the 'features' section at the left side of the page,
and then under Support, select/open "documents", the description of the microARRANGER Owner's Manual says:

Owner's Manual for the Editor/Librarian:
This is the Korg microARRANGER Software Editor/Librarian Manual in .pdf form.

This clearly tells me that there's an 'Editor/Librarian software program' available for the microArranger, yet I don't see this available on the Korg's microArranger Support & Downloads Page, nor included on the CD that comes with the microArranger keyboard itself.

Having an editor/librarian software would be greatly beneficial in making it far easier to edit and organize Korg microARRANGER Programs (sounds) on a PC, than having to do this on the keyboard itself.

Any idea where I can download or obtain the aforementioned microArranger Editor/Librarian software?

Thanks in advance for all assistance.

Scott :)

Hi Scott

I think they are refering to the PRM program, you can find it in the forum download section

Hi Col

Perhaps, but Korg PRM appears to be Pc software to organize Pa keyboard "styles" only, and with no style editing capablities. On the other hand, an "Editor/Librarian" is typically PC software for organizing and editing a keyboard's sound patches (refered to as programs in Korg talk).

Upon reading Korg's documented clear mention of an "Editor/Librarian" software for the microArranger, I'm hoping (fingers crossed) they will soon be posting it here on their microArranger 'support and downloads' page.

Perhaps a Rep from Korg reading this forum can check into this and provide more information about this. Scott :)

I would suggest contacting Korg USA Product Support directly (see my Signature). There is a possibility Korg is creating software but it hasn't been released yet.

Kronos owners are still waiting for the promissed Kronos Editor software.

Hi Martin,
I contacted Korg about this via their website's online technical support page 3 days ago, but haven't heard back from them (yet).
Perhaps they're "all" away at Namm :?:

Scott, you won't hear much from them. A lot of Korg users have been waiting for PC software for over a decade now!!!!

Hi folks,

The download listed above is actually the owner's manual for the keyboard itself. Korg doesn't offer editor/librarian software for the microARRANGER. We've corrected the label on our support page, and apologize for any confusion.

Best regards,

or ANY other arranger Rich, this is a glaring oversight that still leaves MANY MANY Korg arranger owners angry.

It would not require much from you guys at Korg to provide at least a BASIC PC editing app...

Can you please respond? Can Korg give us an editor?

And please, a DEFINITIVE answer, no hedging or maybes...Yes or No!!!

Although I expect the answer will be deafening silence, just the same as it has been for well over a decade!!!

Hi Dennis,

I know that you're looking for a definitive answer, but please understand that we can never disclose future product plans. For that reason, saying either "yes" or "no" would be very inappropriate. With this in mind, I am happy to pass along your concerns.

Thanks,

Thanks Rich,

But with all respect m8, that is the same answer we have been fobbed off with for nearly 12 years!!! I got the second ever PA1xPro in Australia when it first was released, (2001) and I have been asking since then. As have quite a few others!!!!

From Paolo Tramanonni, from Korg Italy from Korg USA...

Look, why doesn't Korg just be honest and come out with it and say there will never be one...At least that way we will KNOW, we would stop asking, and will stop always "hoping against hope" that some sort of editor - (that we think is ESSENTIAL) - will not be happening.

Can you at least ask Korg to provide that for us...this hedging (ie maybe yes, maybe no) all the time is a real p.i.t.a.!!!!

Thanks for your quick reply too :)

Can we make these questions posts on their own please???

These sorts of questions go away from us putting th "word" onto Korg to make us an editor.

In which case you would not need ANY of these 3rd party programs, that don't work all that well anyway!!!

Rich, though I'm a little disappointed, thank you for clarifying that there is no editor/librarian being offered for the microARRANGER.

Hi rbeach: you can download the free PRM program here: 8)
