Hello all,
I own a Roland AX synth keytar. It has great lead and guitar sounds, so I've been using it with a wireless audio transmitter. Now, I'm considering to use my Kronos instead, but I was wondering if anyone had any experience using wireless MIDI.
PRO MIDI
- No interference in the sound. Whilst my audio transmitter does a pretty good job, you can still hear it's wireless
CON MIDI
- If something goes wrong with the audio transmitter (ie. battery dies), the sound simply stops. I expect more problematic results of failing MIDI (hanging notes, synth panic etc...)
Also, can anyone tell me the range of the MIDI transmitters you used ? I like to go into the crowd with my keytar...

I used to gig with an M-Audio Midair Wireless midi unit with the Korg RK-100 keytar and a Triton Rack. Worked great! Never had any issues with it. Great to be able to walk around the stage. Here's the same setup hooked up to my ipad
