Hooray, my first random reboot and System failed message

Just loaded a SNG file from the Hard drive. Had another keyboard midied to it with a patch change on second external synth. Played the top synth, it was fine. Hit a note on the Kronos (for other KRONOS internal sound), and heard a loud, BEEP, like the note was stuck, then it went to the black KRONOS logo screen. It then tried to reboot itself. After it tried, it said system failure, please remove any USB devices and reboot.

Thankfully after shutting it off for 20 seconds and turning it back on, it came back on.

Hope they come up with a permanent fix for this common problem soon. I've only had this thing since February 20th, 2012.

PS. The first thing I did when I got it was update to OS 1.5, so its up to date.

PS2: Settings for SNG. Track 1 is MIDI channel INT (1) (Kronos internal patch); nothing setup for track 2-15. Track 16 is set to MIDI channel (16) EXT2 (063/011), 94 (Triggering a Motif XF patch/voice). There is no song data recorded, it is just a setup for selecting correct patchs/presets for particular song. There us a 16GB USB stik in the USB A port. The song was saved and loaded from the internal SSD drive.

I had the same thing happen to me a week back. Was recording a midi track along with other midi track+audio tracks and then i heard this loud beep. Screen went blank and then tried to reboot, but showed a system failure and asked me to remove USB device. I dint have any usb device attached. I switched off and then started, so far there has been no problems.

I had the Expression, switch and damper pedal connected at that point.

All midi channels were set to internal.

Are these problems, things that need to be called in to Tech support or does Korg see the post on the forums and if they get enough reports, they try to address it in an OS update?

I've had a couple of system failures on the K61 since installing 1.5. Just wondering if it was a power dip. We get them now and again. I think I'll dig out my Variac and see how low the voltage can get before it quits.

OK, it says 120V on the label, so I started at 120V and slowly wound it down. Still OK at 90V. It quit at 80V so I slowly wound it back up again and it rebooted perfectly at 100V. So it would have to be a significant power dip to make it quit. I didn't have the K61 connected to any speakers and it didn't make any noises - just quietly died and equally quietly booted up again.
