Hello and sincerest apologies for my Kronos Newbie question. I edit and program my Yamaha S90ES very well so i do know a little, and an answer may already reside in these many forum pages, but I'm anxious to layer and split.

I'm in Combi mode, have assigned three timbres, have spit the board into three zones, but only one zone will sound. Manual indicates For Prog Select/Mixer to select INT and also select Global Channel. Perhaps I'm not selecting Global Channel?

I'm looking forward to the steep learning curve of this powerful Korg. I do scour the manual but am sure to have gaps along the way.

And kindly direction would be greatly appreciated! Many thanks, Richard.

PS- any subsequent posts will be short and to the point.

The Timbre Parameter tab contains the MIDI tab, which contains the MIDI channel, iirc.

Got it! Three zone sounding independently. Put midi global on each. Now I can proceed and tweak octaves. Next I can begin rewriting my 50+ combos onto the Kronos and retire the S90ES.

...nothing like an evening (or 20) listening to a thousand timbres to layer and split for each song. MANY MANY THANKS jg:: !

Many thanks!! You have a great day.

Going thru timbres and programing combis is actually one of my favorite past times. Once completed I next learn how to sequence.

This forum is immensely helpful!

Yes I still am playing through them in my free time now and then. And still haven't played them all.
