hopefully that title makes sense!!!

I'm curious to see what keyboards people are doubling there kronos with at the moment (if they are) and why they've chosen them.

I'm using a kronos 88 on the bottom, and a triton extreme on the top, but as a controller to the kronos. because of this, its quite easy to use up all the 16 slots in combination mode!!

i'd like to have an independent keyboard on the top, so i can free the kronos up a bit, but in order for me to be convinced, it'd have to have equal, or better sampling capabilities as the kronos!!! (maybe i need to get a 2nd kronos on top of the 88!!!!!!!)

a few people over here in perth are curious about a jupiter 80 and kronos combo. anyone tried that at all???

I'm sure there are tons of people running the JP80 and Kronos setup.. I believe there are a few people on this site that are.

I am using a Kronos 88 and motif XF7. The XF 7 is off to the side. My M3m is stacked on the 2nd tier of my double tier stand.

When I do double, I use a Kronos 88 on the bottom and Nord NS2 88 on top. I also use a Roland AX-1 as a controller to either of those boards from time to time... but I use the Kronos as a Kronos and the NS2 as an NS2, never do I have one controlling the other... no need to. Additionally, I'll either use the Kronos or the Nord as a controller to Garritan Personal Orchestra.

For me, at this moment, the overall size and weight of the setup is important, so I've been changing things since I've received Kronos one year ago.

I would like to take the Nord Stage on the road, it has a flight case and everything, but it's too big, and the piano parts I play live can easily be done on unweighted keys. So I'm taking the Electro 2 as a secondary keyboard, which stays on my right side. I use it for the Hammond sounds, as I like its overdrive better than the one in Kronos. A Line 6 delay unit and a Digitech Reverb enhance its sounds via send/return on the Mackie 1402VLZ mixer.

Kronos is the main keyboard, facing the audience. It does everything, except organ sounds. I have a small X50 on top of it, connected via USB. It's my additional controller for the Kronos sounds. It does not even have its audio ouputs connected at this moment, because up till now its sounds are not needed. If I need to, there's space on the mixer. Setlists, Songs, Backing Tracks, and I'm ready to go!

I'm adding the Monotron series of analog synths this week, gotta have some rough and dirty analog fun after spending months programming Kronos for the gigs... Smile

Just a remark from me: I have the same setup as you have now, except my Extreme is under the Kronos. I don't have plans for doubling it since the Kronos can handle everything without a problem.

KRONOS on top, Pa3X on the bottom, and a Lionstracs X-R in a rack.
My OASYS... switched off. Shocked The KRONOS is just so much better.

Regards
Sharp.

With all that beautiful lights on the Oasys I would still put it on Smile

Laughing Yeah true.
I do use for it's 88 Keybed when laying down piano, but it's just driving the KRONOS sound.

Kind of scary really since I love the OASYS so much. Shocked It's a better built machine hands down, but for function and sounds the KRONOS leaves it standing right now.

Regards
Sharp.

Stop teasing now..... Laughing
I'm off the drink 5 weeks now.

My wife has gone health mad and to keep temptation out of ""her way"" there's not even a bar of chocolate in the press let alone a can of Guinness in the fridge.

Me being the typical man, I won't feed myself unless it handed to me, and if there's no beer in the fridge, I'm totally screwed. Laughing

Regards
Sharp.

My wife is also a health freak, so no cookies or chips for me at home. Only healthy vegetables to choose from.

But that's where i draw the line, nobody touches the beer in the fridge hehehe Very Happy

I found that the Kronos responds well when its player has had other brands of beer too! Maybe a poll is in order as to which brand works best?
