Hi

Please excuse the double post.....

Excuse the question, but is it possible to upload different sounds to a X5D? I know its an old school synth, but the sounds in many ways arent old school enough. I'm looking for synth sounds that you would get on 'Theme for great cities' by Simple Minds, but the sounds on the X5D seem more appropriate to a school assembly.

If I can't get those sounds on a X5D, what should i go for (keeping a tight budget in mind)?

Many thanks

I'm sure you can upload different sounds on the X5D (or edit them yourselves).

Afaik the X5 and X5D are compatible and there are probably lots of syx files usable.

Korgy Park used to have a large collection of sound banks for the 05R/W, X5, X5D, X5DR (these are all compatible), but unfortunately the web site seems gone : http://www.blosphere.net/~janne/korgypark.html

Luckily it's still available through the WaybackMachine:

And here are some more:

To upload the sounds you need to use a sysex dumper program from a PC/Mac via MIDI.
