Is anyone still here? I wonder how likely it is to be able to fix or install a new DAC on these units to give them some analog out useability without the high noise floor? For Ableton I use an APC. I mostly use the Zero 4 as a straight-ahead DJ mixer. I've been playing around with using it to control MIDI hardware and provide a MIDI clock for external drum machines and synths but that's a whole different animal.

Let's try this a different way - is there anyone who has a Zero 4 without a hiss on the analogue booth and main outputs?

It works fine, but nothing will be detected unless you go to the MIDI menu and set both of the options to "Auto Detect" in the preferences. It's a shame that Korg never bothered doing any post-sales support for these expensive mixers, and that includes never updating the Zero Edit software even once ...
