Split Keyboard Zone for External Instrument via MIDI
I want to play an external software synth along with Korg internal sounds in the COMBI (or seq ) mode. I can't do that because the EXTERNAL MIDI instrument does not respect the ZONES of the Korg. Entire 88 keys play the same sound.
Is there a solution to this ?

You don’t need a router to assign an IP. Without a DHCP server, the two connected machines will auto-configure IP addresses in the 169 “link local” range. The Kronos can then be accessed using “Kronos.local” as the address. . I did not know that just connecting Kronos and PC works. Auto-Configure is ...

When you say “doesn’t work”, what is actually happening? What does the Networking screen on the Kronos say? The networking screen on KRONOS says Cable Unplugged. There is no handshake. KRONOS should get an IP address but it does not When I connect LAN from the motherboard to the router, DHCP assig ...

For what it’s worth, I’ve had no issue with networking on the Kronos. I’m using it right now. ..... either because the manufacturer has changed the design, or there’s something else going on in your network setup. Can you please share what USB Ethernet adaptor you are using that works for you. I hav ...

I suspect if one of the recommended ones isn’t working, it’s either because the manufacturer has changed the design, or there’s something else going on in your network setup. Thanks for your insight and reply. I have tried 2 USB ethernet adaptors both did not work. In this thread, it is also menti ...

I tried with a USB Ethernet adaptor (TrendNet) from the list recommended by KORG. It did not work. Still waiting to hear from KORG if they have any adaptor in the market they know that works with their 3.1.3 OS. I am not hopeful. I don't think they invest in drivers development. Probably not too ...

Thanks, KK. Yes, mine is 61 key. So connecting to the LAN port on the motherboard directly is not an option. According to the K2-61 pic here --> ( https://up.picr.de/23419903ak.jpg ) indeed it looks quite cramped to connect the LAN out. But possibly a right angled connector would fit there. Hard to ...

Thanks, KK. Yes, mine is 61 key. So connecting to the LAN port on the motherboard directly is not an option. I need to know what USB Ethernet adaptor to buy that works. Hi Satish and sorry to read that there is not enough space in the 61-key version on the motherboard side to allow a connector in ...

Basically the Kronos is a regular desktop PC with a Intel mainboard and you cannot connect two PCs with a USB cable directly to use one as a mass storage device. It worked fine with Korg Extreme, hence the query. I guess Extreme was not a computer and Kronos is ? My theory now is that USB ports on ...

Hi Satish, so maybe space is more limited if you have a 61-key. Is your Kronos a 61-key one ? Thanks, KK. Yes, mine is 61 key. So connecting to the LAN port on the motherboard directly is not an option. I need to know what USB Ethernet adaptor to buy that works. I had one that did not. Some of the ...

My solution was to simply connect the Kronos directly from its motherboard LAN port to the computer. Very easy mod and works just fine. I tried to get the recommended USB ethernet, they are old and not available. Not sure if KORG can help confirm what to buy that works with latest OS 3.1.1 Absent ...
