Hi PieBaron, The MC-303 is an underated machine. I recent rediscovered mine ( bought in 1997 I think ) and think it is really good. It's a bit quirky so to make the most of it get the manual as there are loads of layers to play with. http://www.synthmanuals.com/manuals/roland/mc-303/owners_manual/ I ...

Yep, I can second the Wacom Bamboo Stylus for the iPad works well on the Volcas. Much easier to use as fingers can double touch the inputs.

Personally, an FM is not for me....mid 80's FM is boring and harsh. I will wait for a real release to see if it add any value.

Perhaps a bit off topic.... when in Poly Ring mode while running a pattern it sounds like the key is changing when adjusting the sustain. With the keys it's all about tweaking the sweet spot. but, I find this useful for variation.

Thanks for you input Dragan and Spheric El The tb-3 is fine and Keys is OK with some notes dropping out. With the MC-303 even with a similar perceived key presses all is not good, for example, if do a scale up and down the keyboard with the same pressure some notes will not trigger. I have contacted ...

A long wait or not you probably would be better served to return it for a replacement. Have you looked inside for anything obviously broken?
Don't open it up.....you'll void the warranty, send it back.

Hi Dragan, Mine arrived today. Overall it's fine, but, I am having issues with pressure sensitivity on some devices. TB-3 is fine, the key hit on the midi keyboard is the same, but on the keys and MC-303 I have to press really hard on the midi keyboard to hear the sound. The MC-303 is the worst with ...

Midi keyboard for my Volca Keys

I have been looking for a basic midi keyboard 25 or 49 keys for my Volca keys.

My budget is £120 and all I need is the keyboard and a midi out - don't need any fancy knobs or pads.

My searches have come up with USB midi's with no midi out - any ideas or recommendations.

Thanks

Thanks my friend, I know...when I heard the bottom end of the Keys I was....WOW all this for £85. I could not believe it - it's harmonics in detune are beautiful too. What a machine.

The MC is pretty good in retrospect too.....I want more. :)

Thanks Dragan, I've had the MC-303 sitting around for around 20 years, does that make it vintage :D , it has had a hard rap over the years, but, re-looking at it has revealed some features that are quite useful, as usual with Roland, you have to dig deep into system configuration to get the best out ...

I was also wondering if I could use the effects on the MC-303 to influence the sound on the volca keys.

Any ideas?

Volca keys and other hardware.

Hey guys, I am revisiting my music hobby and I have a few questions. I have an MC-303 ( don't laugh ) :) which has a pretty decent drum machine and sequencer, tb-3 and a volca keys, which I love to bits. I want all three units to sync and play nice, what do I need to get these units to play together ...
