I wish the Volcas had been designed with a line-in socket, so that the audio could be daisy-chained in the same way as the sync signal. No need for an external mixer (unless needing optimal sound quality). It would have been useful when using the Volcas with headphones or amplified speakers, or for ...

Decreasing the latency will make things worse. Try setting it to 512. I encountered some crackles with the Madrid gadget running on an iPad-2, but with an audio latency of 256 they were mostly gone and at 512 there was no problem at all. Module hasn't caused any sound glitches for me. However if I ...

Nanokey Studio: *wired* connection to Korg Gadget?

Does anybody know if the Nanokey Studio will work with an iPad-2 running Korg Gadget? The iPad-2 doesn't have Bluetooth-4, so it would have to be a wired connection via the camera kit. Other USB midi controllers "just work" so I assume the Nanokey Studio would too, but I wondered if anybody knows ...

Thanks for the advice, Emmanuel. At first I was keen on the MS-20 module kit, as it would let me tinker with add-on electronics. But the mod-cons of the Minilogue are pretty compelling. Polyphony, patch-memory, and a powerful sequencer are features not to be sniffed at. It looks like it'll be a ...

The unbalanced outputs of the Minilogue are vulnerable to all sorts of interference. There are some things you can do to test if the noise is coming in from the mains: - With the synth connected up as normal, listen on passive (non-amplified) headphones. Then disconnect everything from the synth ...

Minilogue: what *can't* it do?

Hi everybody. I'm somewhat new to the world of synthesizers, although I used to build small sound modules as a kid in the 80s. With that kind of background in electronics I was drawn to analogue synths, and came across the Minilogue. On paper at least it seems very flexible, and able to do almost ...
