Are you sure there's any audio signal going into the sync input? You should not be able to hear anything when you have the transfer cable properly connected, as the laptop speakers should be automatically disabled. Ok, so I checked again. I have the stereo cable (which came with the Volca) going out from Headphones to my audio interface (Roland Quad-Capture). The problem is that I can plug it to Audio in mono channel only - and the sound quality is quite poor, very low, and there's a lot of hiss noise. I don't understand why the hiss ...

You can use the sequencer to do that: Press REC + PLAY. Press a key with the note you need, and keep it pressed. When 16 steps have passed, press REC to stop recording. Then release the key.
