There is a Hosa cable that is "1/8 TRS to 1/4 TS". I utilized this cable for by volca keys and volca beat. For the other two volcas i have, the sample and the fm, i use those insert style cable. some individuals are worried about there being no resistor on the TRS to TS cable \, which is a valid ...

okay, so looking at the spec' for the Mix, it says Sample and FM are stereo outputs, and Keys, Bass, Beats, and Kick are mono. not sure why FM has to be stereo: for the Chorus? so what if you just want to sum them to mono? and what is really happening on the mono outputs of the other ones? 2 mono ...

lower/middle tier midi devices have been losing din midi connection for a long time now. I assume most manufacturers are just expecting their midi controllers to be used with a computer. There are a few devices that will play midi host and allow you to route your midi through them into the volca. if ...

the volcas send a split dual mono signal from the headphone jack. If you use a mono cable with them you loose half of the signal and need to use a lot of gain on the signal which will make it noisy.

no, beats is a niche machine. sample it or something. if you were doing some seriously minimalist studio thing, it can do it. taking anything like that live is asking for disaster. out of the question. for a while i was using the beat, keys, and fm alongside a monomachine in a live setting. If you ...

yes i read your first post. this specifically makes it sound like you are plugged into sync. hence why i mentioned it.

Sync and midi signals work independent from one another as they are not the same thing. the sync signal only keeps the volcas in time bpm wise with one another. It does not send start, stop, or pause data. IF you want to be able to control transport (start, stop, etc.) you be bet it to get a midi ...

This "feature" as you call it is clearly marked on the sequencer itself. Steps 9 & ten have the word alt in between them.

choking is a common feature of the mpc workflow. The sample is a spiritual throwback to the mpc, hence the color scheme on the original volca sample.

one of the gripes i hear often is that there is noise bleed through when using a power adapter to power the volca units. i have stayed using batteries because of this.
