Re: Kronos LS "falling" keys

I've had the same problem with the LS where some keys do not return to the correct height. It started in March of 2020. I noticed a few keys had "sunk" about 1/8". I looked on youtube and seen how they repair these keys. It showed a flat metal spring that can actually cut into the plastic key. The ...

Hi ferares4, I have notified the Australian Korg distributer of the fault. His reply: "Korg are looking into the keyboard issue as they are not sure what would be causing this. They have told me that they are checking stock of keybeds and will look at replacing yours once they can find out what the ...

More key combinations that trigger this problem. Hold down the keys for Ebm7 in second inversion (Bb Db Eb Gb). While holding these keys down play the D natural that's in the middle of the cluster. The D natural has lost it's velocity sensitivity. Another: hold an Fsus chord above middle C (F Bb C ...

A few weeks after making this video I received a new keybed. More details to come. If Korg is covering that, I'd sure to know before I plop down $200 for the 4 keys on my LS that need to be replaced. My advice would be to contact the dealer that sold you the unit. They should notify the local ...

Hi FRANKH,

This is the thread for your problem.

http://www.korgforums.com/forum/phpBB2/ ... p?t=117742

The Korg distributor in Australia is providing me with a new LS keybed. No charge of course.

It's yet to arrive so I don't know if the design problem has been resolved.

cheers,
DC.

Me again. Just repairing another key with epoxy. Since the board is dismantled, I'm adding epoxy to other keys preemptively... before they fail. So far this fix is holding up ... but I have no idea how long it will last. If the Kronos LS was a motor vehicle it would have been recalled. C'mon Korg!!!

http://img146.imagevenue.com/loc147/th_99358_Kronos24Feb2020edit_122_147lo.jpg (Click on image for full view) It's time to repair 7 keys. I'm going to try the epoxy method. The bad keys in the upper register were previously swapped out from the middle register. It is now clear that this is a design ...

A Youtube user has reported the same problem after just 5 months of use.

Perhaps it's time for Korg to acknowledge this fault.
