If I remember correctly, Tiho makes his own styles and possibly samples his own stuff. From that perspective, the Event is indeed a good choice. If you want to just sit down and play, Yamaha is the machine for you. Korg is in the middle.

Bottom line is we know what they have said they will do. Now we will see what they will do. For myself, if they don't fix the songbook, I won't buy one. But I would be surprised if that happens.

Take a look at the FAQ for the 5x: https://www.korg.com/au/products/synthesizers/pa5x/faq.php Korg clearly has long-term plans for the keyboard. I can only assume that those plans will include fixing the current OS bugs. Unfortunate for early adopters? Yes, but almost certainly a problem that will ...

They needed the cash flow that is why they sold you the unfinished Pa5x Well, (based on the above comment) if they are prepared to risk customer confidence (which has now happened) with that sort of business ethic, then KORG must be in real trouble ?... What happened was the pa5x is a new operating ...

Re: Has Korg Given Up on Bonusware Styles?

I think it’s still on pack 42 since like forever? When I bought the Pa5x I was told by the dealer there would be some new styles for the Pa5x. So where are they Korg !! Or have Korg done a Yamaha and given up on packs altogether? The bonusware styles were quite amazing. I'm guessing they are p ...

Hi Bill, interesting price range. Not quite as big a gap here between Genos and PA5x. I could have bought a Genos for same price as I paid for my PA5x 88 note which incl shipping. Genos, shipping was extra. Wasn’t a hard choice. P.s what did you actually play if it wasn’t keyboards. There were so ma ...

I still believe, i Hope, i try to convince my needs and wishes , that does not make me to an evil person, or makes me to hate KORG, i just want what i believed i payed for. If you read the manual you will understand it, if you did not even read it, than you are just a home musician. No, you are ...

Yes this site is very toxic as someone said, more toxic than social media, youtube and others put together. What a bad place we are in. I have never known anything like this in all my years of keyboard forums. But it is the posts praising and applauding Korg and Pa5X that are throwing fuel on the ...

All in all, if you perform live, don't get it just yet. If you are more of hobbyist, I think you will be able to live with it for the most part.
I think this explains the situation perfectly. It defies both logic and history that Korg would not fix the bugs (eventually).

Hi Bill, I ‘ve never been a performer, but if my living depended on it, I wouldn’t take the risk of replacing without some sort of back up plan. I remember I was so excited when the Pa4x came out. I was not so happy when all my user style conversions from pa3x didn’t play back correctly. Pa4x was se ...

I don't play keyboard for a living. I just play for fun. But it seems to me that if I did play for a living (which I did at one time using another instrument), I would hang on to whatever keyboard I was using previously until I was sure the 5x would do the job properly. If I found it couldn't, I ...

Here is a guy that managed to play for an hour and a half without any apparent problems. And a great job if you ask me.

I can understand that new PA5x owners are frustrated, I would be too. But Let's look at Korg's record. They produced a very fine and stable keyboard-the PA4x. That keyboard presumably had glitches at first but everything was ironed out. Korg released version 3 of the operating system quite a while ...
