Can I edit a patch while in sequence mode, auditioning a patch edit in real time as the sequence plays?

I can't find this in the manual.
Can the assignable velocity pads on the M3M transmit MIDI notes to the internal sequencer or to an external one? So far I am only able to record them out as audio.

When I play the Wx5 through the M3M I get slightly more dynamic range and timbre change from the synth patches than I do the wind patches. It seems like the saxes etc are not designed for as much ...

I have a Yamaha Wx5 wind controller but I don't know how to get the most out of the M3M's wind patches. When I play the Wx5 with the M3M's winds they're dull and not very expressive.

Does anyone have experience in this regard and know how optimize the M3M's patches for use with a wind controller?
