Hi Ray, So far so good! What "User Data" are you expecting to see on your Korg Disk? If you have used the Media functions either to make Backups (.BKP) or to Save data to a .SET folder (e.g. All data or perhaps just the Songbook or user Styles), then you should definitely be able to see those ...

Ray, welcome to the PA700 universe. I hope you get as much enjoyment from yours as I am getting from mine! I've had mine for two and a half years, and I'm still only scratching the surface of its capabilities.... With the USB interface, you are exposing the PA700 as a device to the outside world, so ...

You may need to check that you've got the right type of RCA adaptor. They exist in two versions X to RCA and RCA to X i.e. "input" and "output". From my research with my PA700, the type to take the RCA output from the keyboard and convert it to HDMI or VGA for input to a monitor are much less common ...

Progress! 1) I have successfully changed the backlight in my 01/W. Took about 30 minutes to actually fit the new EL panel, but about 4 hours to dismantle the keyboard - almost completely - to get at the display board, and then about another 2 hours or so to put it all back together again. Amazingly ...

Kevin, I've posted some information in the thread http://www.korgforums.com/forum/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=121984 which might be relevant here too. In particular, I haven't yet been able to recreate a situation where I cannot change the global MIDI channel. If I highlight the field, any of the data ...

No need to be sorry at all! I'm quite enjoying the challenge of working out what is happening - particularly because it's also useful for what I eventually want to achieve between my 01W and my PA700. I've already realised that what I was planning to do isn't actually going to work..... Some of what ...

I'm still investigating this when I have a few moments to spare, but I'm afraid that so far, I've not made a lot of progress.... I've tried to find ways to set my 01W so that the global MIDI channel cannot be changed as you have described, but so far I have failed to recreate that situation. If I ...

Hello, The MIDI implementation in the 01W seems a little strange. To start with there are only 100 programs (00 - 99) per bank. If you send a program change of 100 or more to Bank A, it automatically overflows into Bank B (and likewise Bank B overflows into Bank A), that is program A100 will ...

Hi, On my ca 30 year old 01W/fd, it works as described in the manual - which isn't really that bad, although you probably have to read the general instructions on key and slider functions and how to input data (pages 11 to 16) along with the information on MIDI channel (page 158). As far as I can ...

PS: I've just realised that while you cannot protect/unprotect an MP3 file from the Song Selection screen, you can do this from the Media - Copy or Media - Delete screens. Select the file(s) and then choose Protect or Unprotect from the Page menu as required. You can't use Media - Load because that ...

Apologies. I've now checked my PA700, and I find that Song mode & MP3 files don't work in quite the way I expected/remembered. So please ignore my last post - certainly as far as MP3 files are concerned. However, the red padlock symbol means that the MP3 file is read-only. I don't think there's any ...

I'll have to check when I next have a few moments in from of my PA700, but I'm pretty certain that it means that the SET folder (or the MP3 song file) is protected. This is intended to prevent accidentally editing or deleting the relevant files. You should be able to protect/unprotected the songs by ...

Here's another way that this can be achieved directly on the arranger fairly easily, as long as you have plenty of empty style slots in your User section. 1) Firstly, I recommend using Media - Save - All to create a new set folder containing the current settings of your keyboard in case something ...
