Repair shop

Just a couple of thoughts. If you Google "Korg repair near me", you may get a few results but not many. It seems that Google doesn't know much about this. many music stores usually have somebody that may not be officially "Korg certified" but is capable of doing repairs, and can get parts. Call ...

Splits

I haven't done splits in prog, but I do it frequently in Combi. In Combi there is a Category called Splits, where there are many already created. You might already find something suitable there to use. If not, make a copy of one that is "close" and modify it. Here's a link that shows you how. It's a ...

Custom kit

Hmmm, If I was inclined to do this, I would take one of the existing kits and copy it to bank D (or wherever there is open space) Then I would experiment with that copy. As far as I recall, each key is a sample file and they are file names like P107, and are buried I think in Bank E along with the ...

Re-visitng the Freeze Up issue - any new developments?

Hey all. Some time has passed and I am curious if there is any new findings on the old Freeze-up issue. Last time I checked (over a year ago) many were talking about capacitors. Mine seems to have all healthy looking caps. I even recall somebody suggesting replacing the power supply. . Does anyone ...

Kronos to Krome

I realize that your original post is a year and a half ago, and it may no longer be an issue. But I can say from experience that as wonderful as the Krome is for sounds and ease of use, it lacks horribly in quality. I have had two Kromes crap out on me and I cannot recommend one based on that. My ...

Years later and no better

No help here, but I can tell you that the System Error issue is still alive and well. I bought a Krome 73 about 13 months ago and it was fine until about a week ago. (figures . . just out of warranty). I thought this wouldn't happen to me but it finally did. If you search this forum you'll find lots ...

footswitch option

There is another solution that involves the use of an iPad and an app and a fair learning curve in hex programming. That app is Unrealbook. I have been using it for about 2 years, and for me it contains my fake sheets, which have coding embedded so that when I turn the page to the next song, all my ...

Another Rotary option

I beleive that a foot switch can be made to control the rotary slow / fast.
I had an X3 way back and did enjoy that same after touch rotary control. It made the organ so expressive. But since then I have gotten used to just hitting the joystick.

Keyoardist on "Lets Make a Deal"

I was just wondering, how does that guy do it? That guy is Cat Gray and he shows all his gear and how he does what he does. This is a cool video (to me anyway) because it shows how to be ready for any crazy spontaneous situation. Enjoy. http://www.techmuze.tv/cat-gray-musical-director-of-lets-make-a ...

Well, as a follow- up, since a ll the above conversation, the M50 started locking up again and in frustration one night I punched it and smashed the touch screen. So I ordered a new touch screen and carefully installed it. Surprisingly many months passed and it worked perfectly . . . until just a ...

I dunno. . . . I think I'm gonna like this. Decided to go to Guitar Center. The salesman talked me out of the MAckie Thump 15 and suggested the Alto TS215 powered speaker. In a side by side test, the Alto sounded brighter. Priced the same, so I got it. Compared to the Behringer amp that it will ...

I wonder if there are any keyboard players out there that are using a Bose system just for their keys.... I know it's probably crazy to even think of it due to cost, but it's light, strong and with sub it has good range.

Derek, Thanks for your info.

Correction, my Roland amp is an older KC500. Predates the 550, but basically the same.
