OK I've been playing with it and the buttons don't respond as such in Global mode. In External mode they act as controllers, not program buttons. Right then, I'll try it then and watch how it actually responds. I thought it was only responding with program changes rather than everything stored in the button, but i'll make a complicated scene on a button and see how much is called up on replay.

Can the KP3 vocoder also take an external synth audio source for control of the vocoder note pitch while using a mic to do the speech control? We want to be able to control the pitch via a sequenced synth so that all we do is play a sequencer and say the words at the appropriate time.

what is up with the knobs

It's actually very sensible for road use - no sheared off knobs when chucked in the back of a wagon - I think Korg are trying to address consumer complaints about flimsy controls.

From the guy who actually saw it (in the link above) it had mini-keys and a gooseneck mic on it like the Micro layout, $600 approximate price when released, and called "Korg MicroSampler"
