Not so silly if you mainly perform live and don't want to bring a laptop with you ;) Using a MIDI sequencer is not exactly what I call playing live. ;) And right on the m3, motif .. you can do a lot of stuff using sysex, but it doesn't work always great as you may get audio drops or strange fx ...

Hi Rob, I don't think such a thing exist.
If a text file with the patchnames exist somewhere (patch bank + prog number, name, category), then it shouldn't be too difficult to convert it to the old cubase patchscript format. Cubase will then convert it to the xml format.

Well, we are speaking about streaming here.
So 128 (samples) x 2 (stereo) x 16 (16 bits) x 44100 (44.1 kHz) = 21.5 MB / second. And transfer rate is one thing, accessing 128 different files at the same time is another one.
I think SSD would be more appropriate, though not the same price.

@ the OP I forgot to mention the Virus TI (the snow being the cheapest) as it has also some really nice pads, fx,.. With the latest OS you can now use the arp as modulator.
