Finally got a surface pro, only win8 tablet in town, and this thing rocks 8) Currently I use animoog on the ipad as controller and for the sound too as it's really unique, and a couple of plugs on the surface, for me it's great as I always stand when playing, the mouse was a real pain. Thanks again ...

Thanks Sharp, didn't realize this thread was so old, for me it's all new. lol I'm currently using a few ipads and love the tablets for performing, but I feel I'm running in a wall with ios. Anyway, this sounds good, will try something and see how it goes. Let you know. Btw, is there a problem with ...

What vst are you running on these win tablets, how many and what latency ? Actually I'm looking for the cheapest win8 tablet that will run at least a single synth and 1-2 fx, with a latency of about 10 msec (or about 256 samples). Also what is the touch latency on these, on an ipad I find it pretty ...

There are two options: 1) The k49 can send MIDI clock messages, in this case you can use this to control the tempo in Live. You need to setup live to accept incoming clock messages from a MIDI input (pref,midi..). This sends 24 clock values every beat to help the host stay in sync. Unless you really ...

I have about the same question but for a different reason. I do have a padkontrol but just started fooling with the native mode using visual basic to communicate with it. It's like a new beast, let's you really do what ever you want. 8) Off course before I'm spending too much time on that I'd love ...

Not so silly if you mainly perform live and don't want to bring a laptop with you ;) Using a MIDI sequencer is not exactly what I call playing live. ;) And right on the m3, motif .. you can do a lot of stuff using sysex, but it doesn't work always great as you may get audio drops or strange fx ...

[..]So, I guess you could record that switch on/off sysex at different section of songs to automate it. ... or get a DAW. Do you guys/girls realize how silly this is ? Having to fool around with sysex data on a clumsy sequencer ? A workstation could be use to make your wife/husband/children/step ...

External sync and ignoring start/stop messages ?

I mainly use my emx as a sound module, so I don't want patterns to start playing, though I want to receive clock info to sync the emx to my other gear.

Is there a way to make the emx ignore the midi start/stop messages ?

Hi Rob, I don't think such a thing exist.
If a text file with the patchnames exist somewhere (patch bank + prog number, name, category), then it shouldn't be too difficult to convert it to the old cubase patchscript format. Cubase will then convert it to the xml format.

many thanks... so it can not be sended thru CC 00/32? A full program change is made by sending a CC0 (bank msb), CC32 (bank lsb) and a patch change message, To select patch 120 on the User-B bank you need to send this : CC 00 00 CC 32 09 PC 120 Connect the M3 to your pc and use an app like midi-ox ...

Well, we are speaking about streaming here.
So 128 (samples) x 2 (stereo) x 16 (16 bits) x 44100 (44.1 kHz) = 21.5 MB / second. And transfer rate is one thing, accessing 128 different files at the same time is another one.
I think SSD would be more appropriate, though not the same price.

@ the OP I forgot to mention the Virus TI (the snow being the cheapest) as it has also some really nice pads, fx,.. With the latest OS you can now use the arp as modulator. When I'm looking for pads, atmos, ambiant stuff I usually go for the TI or the Blodfeld and sometimes the V-Synth but almost ...

if I understand, it"s a streaming based sample player but streaming needs RAM to play samples starts and if you want an instant access to all theses samples (for example 10000), 2GB of RAM can be minimum and to fit 2GB with 50kB files can take more than 10s startup And from SD cards ?? aren't these ...

Waldorf vaporware... Probably, but at least they seem to have some dreams left ... True. 8) Waldorf introduced the Stromberg @ NAMM several years ago (a non-working unit), but still haven't produced any for sale. The Blofeld came to market within a reasonable time, so I'm not sure why the Stromberg ...
