The app is a bit of beast and learning to program it well will probably take some time. That being said, from within the iMS-20 there's a feature that lets you download entire projects (sequences, patterns, patches) that users have posted on SoundCloud. This will help in giving you insight on how ...

There's no streamlined way to browse the presets, but what I've done is this: Each pattern uses a synth and can use multiple sounds on the drum parts. For the synth sound, I clickj the Synth button (in components area) I can just save that into my regular presets (save button to the right of Browse ...

What works for me with the iMS-20 via Camera Connection Kit: - Akai LPK 25 without a powered hub (makes everything super portable) - M-audio Oxygen 49 with a powered hub (haven't tried mapping all the controls yet, though...that's my next project) - Korg R3 (has it's own power source, so no powered ...

The R3 continues to amaze me with it's ability to create a wide range of sounds. I've been tweaking an "all purpose" organ sound now for a while and have been impressed not only with the basic waves but also with the various features (wave drive, numerous aspects of the rotary effects, EQ) than can ...

Nice Song & Sounds!
Hi axxim,
Nice sounding song! I've been a big fan of the sounds you've posted on your web-site. That piano sound is absolutely fantastic! Are you going to post that one as well? Also, is the pad sound you use in the song the Air-Pad you posted on your site?
Best,
ihisert

Places to find patches
Though I completely understand folk's comments about editing sounds, using the included editor software to load sounds from around the web is another good way to get some fantastic sounds. The Korg website has fantastic downloads for the R3 from the MS2000, MS2000B and microKorg (http://www.korg.com ...

Another take
I think I get what the dhouston is trying to do (though I could be wrong). Let me try to re-summarize what you are tying to do: 1) You want to record a performance using the Radias via MIDI into Pro-Tools and then be able to hear that performance back through the Radias itself (and not any ...

Just checked my set-up On Instrument track: In the plug-in section, insert the Soft Synth of choice no input output is to whatever hardware output you are using (in my case it is stereo 1-2) On the Midi track: In is set to R3, KBD/Knob Out is set to the Soft Synth set up on the Instsrument track ...

I've gotten the R3 to work in Pro-Tools 8 (LE) via MIDI (controlling a soft synth) using the USB connection. I'll need to check the settings when I get home tonight. I'm pretty sure I used the "r3 kbd/knob" setting in the Midi set-up in Pro-tools for the R3. Then on the Midi track I select the R3 ...

Similar issue posted in other thread
I get a weird "static/wind" sound in the headphones or amp when I turn on the R3. I just assumed this was normal.
What is not normal is that the left channel in the headphones is now muted / distorted / muffled. I'm hoping that is not a hardware issue.

Same Problem with R3 Left Channel
Wow! I was just looking to see if anyone else had this problem, and it looks like the answer is yes. I've had my R3 for about 9 months, and have had no problems with it. Just last week I noticed that I had problems with the left channel in the headphones - volume is barely there and sound is muffled ...
