Hello, it's good to be back!

Hi all Microsampler rocking earthlings! I haven't posted here for ages mainly because my Microsampler has been out of working order for several years due to those cheep rubber buttons acting up, but now with the help of a good friend I have them relubricated and working again; that conducting stuff ...

Well, reviving a dead topic, but I have recently discovered something nice. While Volca Mix tends to sound not too good with volcas themselves giving them that nasty midfreq boost and making it all sound somewhat too boxy, it actually works way better with some other small devices, like those ...

Yes, but I'm more about those acid style short notes, which the Volca Bass is really not capable of.

The thing I dislike about the original Bass the most is not being able to create short or abruptly stopping notes, as the envelope always has some short release stage on the VCA, even when not directly assigned to it. This is the place, where newer synths like the MonoLogue and NuBass do way better ...

Strangely enough Volca Keys shines the most in all kind of mono/unison stuff, while in that poly/paraphonic mode it's nothing too funky to rave about. It still should have been done without that crappy delay, as that's most likely causing noise and quiet output. In that last parameter - output ...

Oh yeah - the Rhythm Wolf: I wanted it quite bad, got it, even used it in a couple of tracks, but still got rid of it for good after about three years of use. The machine had a wonderful "body" for the price, but soundwise it was lacking in almost all directions, bar the kick perhaps. DrumBrute ...

Oh yeah, if I ever decide to get that one, there will be lots more acid and my Roland Tb-03 could go to sleep on that matter! Of course the Nubass is no 303 emulator, but it sounds definitely acidic and evil.

If I understand the question correctly, then it is: why there are different knob settings on different sequences? The answer to that is simply motion recording - a possibility to record knob movement into the pattern and thus giving the impression of almost saving a pattern together with a kind of ...

Oh, thanks! There will definitely be more. To be honest, before getting into modular I used to, well, not like sutch kind of stuff at all, questioning always: why do they still make that kind of music. Being able to quite literally touch this music with my hands and construct it gave a completely ...

And here's yet another crazy experiment, where Volca Modular is on the lead this time.

Well, here you go - there's another one.

This time even darker and more minimal, sort of ambient I guess.

Huh, finally.

I have promised some recording via the Volca Modular, so here it is. A semi-generative track done using the Arturia DrumBrute Impact, Erica synths stuff and the Volca. https://soundcloud.com/drxid/kolkudes-musta-augu-serval The title of the track can be translated as "Teetering on the edge of a ...

Oh no, I'm definitly not an analog-only-snob, just a regular synth nerd, who without a joke, loves to read synthesizer manuals, sometimes just for fun or actually they are capable of giving me some sense of security at difficult times. Yep, those Volca Modular connections are pretty tiny, but ...

Thats OK. Yes, I'm completely blind, but as long as I have synthesizers, I'm OK, because they are basically the only thing in this life, that keep me movin'. Choice of working with hardware is actually also down to this, as more serious software is even less accesible with a screen reader and ...

@megamarkd, those pin cables don't sit as tight as 3.5 mm eurorack ones, thus can jump out quite easyly. Being newer generation volca, it's possible to chain patterns on the Modular and it adds quite alot to the game. Regarding voltages, hehe, I can't answer that question unfortunately, as there's ...
