this answer may not be what you are looking for but here goes: connect a simple drum machine like one of those boss dr cheap ones connect them via midi..and set or tap the tempo on the dr but don't play the drum machine..just have it turned on it might be a more complicated method than you were ...

@ kwtbassist read my first post again x-trade reckons i am wrong about connecting it to a mixer first...but i have a sneaking suspicion I am still corect if you connect it to a mixer and the record the mixer into your computer that will clean up the sound. if not then you need a better sound card ...

just for the record....a microkorg works fine as a midi controller with a macbook w/garageband

i use an M-Audio midi>usb interface

its quite difficult to get a powerful snare sound in my opinion

i saw a tip from another user on here once ..can't remember who...and it works great

whenever a snare hits..hit one of the fx buttons aswell at the same time

ok i retract my comment about connecting it to a mixer or amp X-trade here is probably correct about that I didn't realise you could record a synth straight into a computers line in i will try that later BUT... what i said about it being better to record it in a separate program is NOT untrue you ...

if you want to assign the knobs on your electribe to the knobs on a vst..

hover your mouse over the vst knob...Ctrl click>learn
then just move the knob on your electribe that you want to control that knob

How to sync Midi Clock ONLY ??

hello there i use a microkorg as a slave..and an electribe ea1 mk1 as a master via midi blah blah it all works fine the clock, the midi notes..and presets all sync and lock together fine but I would love to be able to sync the clock only is there a way to do this? the way i have it running now works ...
