How to sync Midi Clock ONLY ??

Post by Daddylaser »

hello there
i use a microkorg as a slave..and an electribe ea1 mk1 as a master via midi blah blah

it all works fine
the clock, the midi notes..and presets all sync and lock together fine

but I would love to be able to sync the clock only
is there a way to do this?

the way i have it running now works fine i suppose...but when i change preset on the electribe..the preset changes on the microkorg too

ideally..i would love to be able to sync the clocks only..nothing else
is this possible?
i have been trying this for months using the manuals etc but cannot find a solution

thanks in advance for any help

clock is transmitted irrespective of channel, so the simplest way would be to set the MicroKorg to a channel that the Electribe doesn't transmit on.

Or you can change the MIDI filter on the MicroKorg I think in the global/MIDI mode - take a look at those modes in the manual. And remember you have to write your changes to global and MIDI mode just like you have to when editing a program. You want to set it to respond to nothing. Then clock should still get through.

i would not have thought that the clock would sync if the channels didn't match
