The only software package I've found that will read the DSD files costs $4400. That's not a viable solution.

Can the Mr-1000 play back DSD files that it did not record by transfering them into the unit, as you would files it did record? I've read in many threads about the bad battery life of the MR1000 -- around 1.5 hours with Lithium Ion batteries.

I'm getting 4.5 hours battery life with regular Duracell batteries. Why don't people just use throw-away batteries instead?

AudioGate software will let you play the files offline (on your iMac).
