Thanks very much for the combis. I'm really stoked that you're giving such great sounds out for free. Top quality work!

Thanks again!

Thanks. I have a feeling it may be something to do with the fact that the M50 doesn't register as an input midi device like it should. This is strange though because Sibelius and device manager do recognise the M50. I am able to hear my custom sounds through the Mbox in pro-tools and the mixer ...

I don't have MIDI in / out cables. Are they necessary? I would've thought I'd only need two leads from the M50 audio outputs into the Mbox to record audio.

Recording M50 Audio into Pro Tools

So I have Pro Tools 10, an audio interface and a synthesizer. How do I record the actual sounds of the keyboard into pro tools as an audio file? I thought it'd be as easy as plugging a line out and in into the mbox but it seems it isn't! I can record MIDI data but not the actual audio which is what ...

You'll find however that because human playing isn't 100% on the beat, your MIDI file will look incredibly strange with ties and triplets all over the place.

You may just have to notate it by hand.

KORG finally shipped out a motherboard to Australia for free. I still had to pay to have it repaired but the part was free so it didn't cost $700.

However, I'm finding that on extremely rare occasions, upon start up I have no sound. A reset fixes it though.

Thanks for the tip Sima.

Is there a way to use either a button or the wheel to cycle through the "Solo" sounds? In a live situation where I have to change dead on, touch screens are a nightmare and can lead to frustrating results.

I'm yet to find a way to move between combis however.

Thanks.

I've finally got my keyboard back. (Korg shipped over a free motherboard; although it still took 4 months for me to finally have a working keyboard back.)

I'm a bit paranoid about it dying again!

Power Supply Help

As the keyboard came from America (and came with a different plug) I am using a Laptop plug into the M50 adaptor.

The plug says 250V on it and the M50 adaptor says "Input:100 - 240."

Will this cause any problems?

Tuomas really likes the presets so you don't really have to fiddle with the sounds much to make them sound like NW. I've turned "Legato Strings" into my core NW strings for songs such as "Bless the Child," "Ever Dream" etc. Add an octave to some punchy strings and you have the strings for "The ...

You basically have to play around with all the settings till you get a sound you want.

I make a strong synth string sound by drastically manipulating the original "Legato Strings" preset.

Thanks for the link to Parts is Parts. They replied and they said they can get me a KORG Motherboard. "510C60112887 PCB ASS'Y KLM-2887(MAIN)M50-61ASS'Y" this is the product they were selling. One perhaps nooby question; would the 61 key motherboard work in the 73 key M50? (Just have to be sure ...

Do they have a website? I assume it isn't an Australian company (because of the phone number.)

I will buy parts from overseas but a website with a catalogue would be ideal so I can also email them about it.

EDIT: Found their site.
