Another Ultimate Apex-90 (black) user here. I freaking LOVE that stand. Yes, it's a tad on the heavy side, but using the leverage technique makes it a breeze to set up. It also comes standard with a sturdy carry-bag with a hand and shoulder strap. I have 2 gripes with the Apex-90, though: one, what ...

Lots of killer waveforms and patches. My favorite Korg combi will always be "Romance Layers". I still go to my Triton for killer patches and often find presets that are exactly what I'm looking for, or ones that are very close and easily tweakable. Some sounds are becoming noticeably dated on the ...

I bought my Triton LE 88 brand-new and used it for 2 years. I never had a single problem with its RH-3 keybed. I then bought a used Triton Extreme 88 from Guitar Center, where it had spent its entire life sitting on a shelf as a demo, being absolutely assaulted, tortured, mashed and mangled by mobs ...

Kronos 73 on the bottom, Motif XF7 on the top, plus a rack of synths on my left. Depending on the gig and the amount of room I had on stage, I'd throw in either the Roland Fantom G7 or the NEW Fantom coming out next year, as well as an Arturia Origin Keyboard and a Roland Jupiter-80. But that's just ...

RichF wrote:Hi Timo,

Kronos does have a large collection of sampled electronic waveforms. The sample collections you posted are expansion libraries.
These expansion libraries are going to be available for Kronos as additional add-ons? If so, we'll get them off the Korg website?

You can bet your booty that Roland's working on a new Fantom or Fantom replacement. The Fantom G is dead development-wise, and it's 3 years old now. I wouldn't expect to see any new workstations announced until next year's NAMM though. A "Super-GAIA" under a Jupiter name is an interesting concept ...

I have a VERY weak gag reflex and I've been told that you've got to shove the tube pretty far back in your mouth to pick up a signal. I doubt cover-band crowds at super-hopping clubs--regardless of how drunk they may be--would get off on watching me hurl on stage . Nome sayin?Eddie Van Halen is the ...

So when did Yamaha Patent the technology?? Because the V Synth has programmable arps. Obviously that whole idea isn't true, but I was told it was somewhere in the mid-2000s, because the Roland Fantom X line (released in May-ish 2004) had programmable arps in it, but the Fantom G (released in May ...

Daft Punk didn't use vocoder but Talk Box... And Auto-tune isn't a Vocoder neither... Phil I never said Autotune was a vocoder. I said it's over-used. :) But seriously, trying to recreate the "Daft Punk" sound live at gigs sounds like it might be a bit of a challenge in real-time. I was hoping it ...

Well that is exactly the point that gets me upset about this demos. But I think it is something like the Auto-Tune syndrome. Agreed. Autotune to get the "Cher" effect is WAY overused. Hell, would T-Pain even sell records if he turned the Autotune off? On a side note, does anyone know what vocoder ...

Absolutely awesome replies here, folks. Thanks! Regarding Yamaha "patenting programmable arps," I can list 3 names (I won't) and provide actual emails (again, I won't) from ROLAND reps at various different levels within the company telling me that the reason the Fantom G doesn't have programmable ...
