I sometimes use painter's tape to make a template I can scribble on before a gig or jam session. It's low-tech, but does the trick temporarily. It helps to color code your markings though, otherwise it can get a little confusing.

Forgot to mention, 2 plus minutes sample time per bank is at 48kHz, it's around 5 minutes at 24kHz (which is still decent quality to me).

Actually, you can have the metronome running while recording an audio sample. You have to go to GLOBAL settings, METRONOME set to ON, SAMPLING TYPE dial set to LOOP, press SAMPLING once, then set how many measures you want to record and the sample trigger threshold, press PLAY/STOP button to start ...

I forgot to mention, there is no way to create patterns in the editor software itself. It does allow you to use the standard copy and paste keyboard shortcuts on the patterns already in the list on the PATTERN tab though.

Under the PATTERNS tab on the editor software there is a button that says LOAD SMF which will open a file browser window. You can select a .MID file and it will fill the highlighted pattern in the list usually. Then press the TRANSMIT button to upload it to the MS. You do have to install the KORG ...

Ok, we get it. Your suggestion has been posted more than a dozen times. You have a workaround. Why attack other users? Do you fail to understand that at this point you are presenting yourself like a whining child throwing a tantrum? Maintain some integrity and present your request through more ...

http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ Cross fade your samples to your hearts content with this FREE software. You can simply export your samples from the editor software and manipulate them with this software then upload them to the MS with the editor software. If that still takes you more than 30 ...

@thuggy_bear: Look into the OP-1 from Teenage Engineering. It may be more along the lines of what you're expecting from KORG. You have to keep in mind that KORG is still a giant corporation and as such is not going to be quick to make their funded research free to the public. You said yourself you ...

Dude, if it's really grinding your gears this bad then software may be the least of your issues. It seems like this product has caused you enough grief to warrant returning it or reselling it and using the money to get the ASRX you really want (I didn't type that with any anger and none of my ...

Here's a feature I just got perfected...pattern switching at bar line. In GLOBAL settings you can set the PATTERN CHANGE to BAR LINE. This allows me to make the first pattern the main 8 bar pattern, then each following pattern is a fill with one less bar (2 is 7 bars, 3 is 6 bars, 4 is 5 bars, etc ...

@thuggy_bear: Fanboy? I'm suggesting that a purchase decided by research shouldn't leave the buyer so bitter. When a user posts only complaints it seems obvious that some user error is occurring. All of the major shortcomings on the MS are mentioned in this forum. The few videos that are out ...

@jtag: The FX are quality, the keys have a great feel, the sampling process is extremely easy and convenient (for line in or mic sampling live instruments), it's portable enough to use in any gig setting, it works as a solid MIDI controller for my software (EnergyXT and FL8), I can easily control it ...

This keyboard is a beast in my studio, but it would be nice to get some more editing features in the editor software...maybe even a MIDI step sequencer to make it more convenient to edit patterns. The keyboard's OS is fine to me and I can't understand how some people bash the MS like it was made ...

Under the global settings there is an option to allow USB MIDI in. As far as I've seen you cannot use the MS as a controller for the PC while simultaneously controlling it with the PC. I can't understand why you would need to though. As far as the quantize goes, that sounds like a personal issue. It ...
