Ah ok well thats not a total dealbreaker. How long does it take to load the sample memory form from scratch to full?

Oh also how does it deal with synthesis with single cycle waveforms?

Electribe Sampler doesn't remember samples after power down?

I read this elsewhere and just wanted to ask if this is true? On power down it doesn't remember the samples or where in the patterns they are used so on powerup you have to find them manually on the cf card an load them?

Is this correct?

My ER1 mk2 is the only electribe I have that I would never sell. Its just so amazingly hands on for generating crazy stuff. I once saw a guy do a2 hour IDM/minimal set just using 2 ER1s and a kaoss pad.

IF you get off on making "weirder" sounds then the ER1 is a boss bit of kit.

Volca Sample reverb quality?

Hi there I'm in the process of waiting for the electribe sample to come on the market (what a wait) and was wondering about buying a volca smaple in the meantime. It seems like a really fun box but since I tend to do quite ambient/minimal and reverb heavy stuff I was wondering how good the quality ...

Counterpoint, the octatrack is a pain in the ass to use, its got far too much menu jumping and the ESX is a far better drum machine style sampler with a more hands on interface IMHO. Also if you want a better reverb put the extra channels through a desk with a pro reverb. If I could only have one ...

Yep I mailed dolphin music (the shop I pre-ordered from) and they said the same thing. It sucks but it odes seem to be the case.

You realise that's like about 4 times the RAM the new electribe will have yes? :)

I also have an mpc1000 too and I love it though it could do with a better quality reverb & delay, apart form that I really love using it.

I owned ( and still do) an es1 and ea1, always wanted and still do, the er1, I electribe just made me want the hardware more. I was never too interested in the em1, though I had a friend who got some good sounds out of it. The ea1 is rather limited, no LFO, very basic only lpf, but it's good for ...

If you wnat drums and wierd analogish and FM like goodness and are an experimenter then the ER1 mk2 is the best (Ill never sell mine and I have an Elektron Analog RYTM), if you want to create more traditional full tracks then the EM is very good.

Em, no. Thats quite obviously a sampled double bass right down to the subtle fretboard clacks.

Yep for me the biggest issue with the ESX2 specs if the tiny sample memory. I mean seriously my MPC1000 is nearly a decade old and has 128mb of ram IE: 26.5 minutes sample time. The new ESX2 only has 270 seconds (IE: 4.5 minutes). How can a decade old sampler have over 5 times the memory of a brand ...

Yes to me that seems most likely. Most "hype" turns out to be somewhat underwhelming when actually finally announced.

Yes indeed an insert reverb per channel would be something Id love that way I could use the maser fx for something else.

Ted3000 wrote: Is the the 512mb memory where the e2 keeps it's PCM, and where the sampler would keep it's samples?
I truly hope so because the announced sample time for the sampler is nowhere near enough to hold 999 decent length samples. But 512 mb well that would be ideal for me :)

Ok Im going to go for broke here. My ideal groovebox 1. 16 high quality pads in a 4x4 mpc layout, 8 knobs, 2 xy pads all assignable to any twakable parameter. Pressure and velocity also similarly assignable. 2. 128 mb or more of flash ram for loading samples via card or usb 3. 32 voices of high ...
