Yeah, that would be awesome, definitely a plus one from me.takadoum wrote:The ability to select a part with TRIGGER+PAD but WITHOUT switching to trigger mode.
For instance, I'm in sequencer mode or mute mode and I want to select different parts to adjust notes or edit knobs. If I press TRIGGER+PAD, I get into trigger mode and I have to press SEQUENCER or MUTE again each time I select a part. Shame and very disturbing when jamming.
And the same for muting would be awesome, like SHIFT+PAD to mute/unmute while in sequencer or other mode. I like the current shortuts with SHIFT+PAD, but I think there should be an alternative shift/mute mode when playing live.
(Nevertheless, I finally love the current mute mode as well for jamming with two hands !)
What would your ideal Electribe feature?

I also own a EMX and other gear and i feel actually betrayed by korg for the lack of midi options..the lack of edit options for synthesis and FX, motion sequences, the bugs, lfo speed,no pattern chaining or song mode, lack of a real transpose function, swing per part, fx dry/wet and only one value, move data/copy data function, master tuning option/ real pitchbend, original value indication,no assinable CC's and midi channels (WTF!)... the arpeggiator is only a gater. The sequencer is strange and got issues. U cant copy voices to another pattern. The bpm LFO restarts per note... no unsynced lfo but triangle. u can select parts only in trigger mode. u cant assign the step jump and steppers to return in sync! some kind of controllable program changes. 16/32/16t/32t per part would be nice! Is it so hard to write some lines of code to make this a great unit?
I use my EMX for liveacts and its a real instrument...most of the fancy e2 things are not well-conceived. They should have involved more artists developing this.
Piece of crap...for now. I hope... they fix this...else I consider reselling my unit. I cant believe they managed to destroy nearly everything what was great about the electribes for a pseudopolyphony and some fancy dsp filters which are quite useless from a sounddesigners view because of the lack of modulation options.
What about some kind of referendum with a list of all issues the members at this forum to send it to korg jp, usa, europe...we should spam them..make a DDOS attack on the Korg website or something to enforce our demands.
We deserve a working unit not some kind of beta stadium midi controller.

^ I understand your sentiments. If you compare the e1 with this e2 there is a lot of basic functionality lacking. You sum them up quite nicely. Anyone expecting an upgrade from previous models will be disappointed.
But I don't think DDoS will help, or contacting Korg for that matter. I have tried several times and all Korg UK does is send me to the shop I bought my e2 from. As if they can sort out the firmware bugs.
If this is a sign of things to come, then I feel bad for anyone who has to sell their e2 at a loss. Korg acts like a global company, but when it comes to support they are very, very local. There is no Korg Europe for that matter, each country has their own little Korg "franchise".
Where employees are too lazy to help you and rather pass the work to someone else. Telling customers to go back to the store they bought their e2 from when they ask for support is just rude and unprofessional.
I think it is better to keep your money and save up for a nice Elektron box, a company that actually cares about their customers and brings out frequent updates to their firmwares.

2. 128 mb or more of flash ram for loading samples via card or usb
3. 32 voices of high quality and highly programmable VA & FM synthesis
4. 4 way layering of samples and synthesis per voice. Switchable by velocity, round robin, lfo or random.
5. 3 free running lfos and 2 adsrs per pad.
6. 2 insert fx per pad. Each effect with 3 or more tweakable parameters
