You only need a 4GB Micro SD Card, but it is usually cheaper to buy a 16GB card. It needs to be Class 10 and the higher the read\write rate the better. I tried the gator cases. Great fit and light but the handle fell off after a few months. I don’t recommend at all. I have used the SKB 3i4214KBD. Case. Great fit light weight.

You have to use a program like HDD Raw Copy to write the SD Card. It will not work if you copy and paste the data. There are detailed instructions in the Sound Problems thread.

Not sure why HDD is not working for you, but that is what I used to put the image on the card. You can't just copy and paste it.
