Quick Record does not a midi make?
I have tried quick record a few times now and it sounds as if the whole things recorded beautifully. I then save the song on a flash drive and take it to my computer and play it back with Windows Media Player, it sounds terrible, timing has been compromised as has the mix. I am sure I must be ...

Midi Quality
Thanks for the tip - that is exactly what I needed to know. I would like to use the higher quality internal sounds versus regulr GM sounds if possible to output a higher quality sound. Will reply later as to results.

PA4X midi quality
djusting the Maxx Aufdio EQ worked like a charm. It is a global setting and I just copied the settings on my PA3X so they were the same. Now the PA4X sounds awesome. In talking about changing the sounds to internal - this is what I meant. usually you can change the sounds in a midi and it would be ...

PA4X Midi Quality
I just received my new PA4X on yesterday. I have been using a PA3X for almost two yeas now. I use midi files extensively. My first reaction is that the sound quality side by side with the PA3X when running midi files is not even close. The PA4X sounds much more tinny, with a lot less depth. Is there ...

Midi to Style converter
I will be happy to share my opinion once I get the PA4X. This is actually a very intriguing new feature - can't wait to see how well it works myself!

Kronos versus PA4X
I currently own both a Kronos and a PA3X. I grew up playing in bands and continue to do that to this day. I also play 3 nights a week doing a duet with a female vocalist. I use the Kronos when playing in a band. I don't need drums or accompaniment, just great sounds and the Kronos delivers that in ...

Problem solved.
I am embarrassed to report the issue is solved. So many times it is something really simple that is the problem. I realized last night that the X-fader for going between midi players was closer to the idle rather than on one side or the other. Problem solved.

Not the issue
I don't think that is the problem. I only have a few songs I even need to hit the melody mute on...._I've either turned down or deleted the melody line on most all of them. This is the 2nd strange thing I've had happen. The other is that I can't save to the hard drive using a flash drive anymore ...

Problem solved!
Thanks to everyone for their suggestions. As it turned out, the 1GB stick of RAM I had put in several years ago went bad, causing the entire issue. Removed the RAM I added and all is well. Order a new 1GB stick.

Something weird happened right before this
Right before I realized the melody mute was not working, I had an issue with volume. My master volume slider seemed to go much quieter than normal so I had to turn the keyboard up on that slider all the way and increase the volume on the PA. The other slider that controls what I am playing with my ...

Melody mute button quit working
I use midi extensively with my PA3x for a duet we perform 3 nights a week for the past year. Tonight, suddenly my melody mute button, which was assigned to button #3, quit working. You press it and nothing happens - it doesn't light red for a second and it doesn't mute channel 4. What could possibly ...

I get it
I get what you're saying. Just the strangest thing - it says remove USB when USB not there but boots fine with USB - backwards from normal but I'll take it if I don't have to take it for service! Thanks for your help!
