Nautilus Case Design
No one mentioned the odd case which has rounded sides with no edge to grip when carrying it. This would not make for an ideal keyboard to gig with. I watched part of a Nautilus review video on You-Tube. The reviewer was first impressed with the design of the case until he thought about the ...

I forgot to mention that often the cables from the synth motherboard to the Floppy Disk drives are exactly just long enough to reach with no extra slack. The floppy disk emulators are about an inch shorter in length than the original floppy drives so you often need an extension cable to make the ...

Figured out how to install USB emulator in Kawai K5000R
I figured out how to install a USB Floppy Disk Emulator in Kawai K5000R. It's just a matter of removing the motherboard, the Faceplate and Volume & Headphone jacks so you could access and remove all four screws holding the original floppy drive in place. For the K5000R the Nalbantov supplied ...

I think the largest USB thumb drive is 2 GB. The emulator software formats the thumbdrive into 99 1.44 MB areas for storing your program data. If I learn that you can use a larger thumbdrive, I will post the info. here. BTW the more expensive floppy emulator came with a 2 GB micro USB thumbdrive ...

Stereo Receiver wire clamps
The clamps that attach speaker wires to the back of your receiver and or speakers work great. I hate the ones that just have screws to attach your wires to. The wires are hard to wind around the post and don't hold very well. The catches on the Kawai connectors are not obvious and I only realized ...

K5000S Floppy Emulator
I have never seen a USB floppy emulator installed in a K5000R rack but I have seen pictures of the USB floppy emulator installed in a K5000S keyboard. Maybe the install is more straight forward in the keyboard. I had my K5000S open last year to install a new white on blue LCD but I did not take the ...

More on floppy emulator
Yes, I paid the outrageous $135 for the Nalbantov Triton floppy disk emulattor because I didn't know whether a Gotek one would work. According to the posting he sold 28 of these, I don't know whether this number was just for the Triton or whether it includes the other floppy emulators he sells for ...

Too Bright LED in the floppy disk emulator
The 3 digit LED in the floppy disk emulator was too bright so I wound up covering it with a dark green plastic gel which cut the brightness of the LED enough so now it is OK to look at. It still looks red but is considerably less bright.

In 2018 my Z1 working fine
I bought my 18 voice Korg Z1 new in 2001. It is still working fine with no issues except a dimmer display now in 2018. I haven't had to replace the battery yet. The display is slightly less bright than when I got it but it is still readable. I will replace the display when a brighter white on blue ...

Cables needed by expansion card
The cables needed by the expansion card are identical to the original cables to the voice card installed by the factory. I think there are 6 voices supplied by a chip on the motherboard. Then another 6 voices on the voice card supplied by the factory; Then another 6 voies from the expansion card. I ...

Where is the Triton Battery located exactly?
I opened my Triton Rack and I didn't see anything that looked like a battery or battery holder. Where is it hidden? Do you have to disassemble the front of the Triton Rack to find it? A web search on this topic did not help.

More about SCSI versus Floppy Disk Emulator
Of course if you use an external drive connected to the SCSI port, you can set up Directories showing the banks grouped by type: Factory, Moss, Prorec, Nepro, Users, etc. To be considered is the extra cost of buying the Korg Triton SCSI connector option hardware on Ebay and the cost of the SCSI ...

Floppy disk emulator for Triton Rack
I bought the Nalbartov USB floppy disk emulator for Krog Triton & Triton Pro, Pro X and Rack two weeks ago on Ebay for $135. Last night I installed it in my Triton Rack. I read the materials they sent me but I was still unsure about mounting the floppy disk emulator drive so I did a web search. I ...

New Kingkorg group at Yahoo groups for sharing patches
I started another Yahoo group: Korg_Kingkorg. The Yahoo group has a file section where you can share patches. Of course, you can also talk about anything Kingkorg related. The group has a restricted membership which means you must be approved by the group moderator before you can post either message ...
